outfit for a wedding

I am going to an outdoor wedding on a ranch. It is right on the beach and is supposed to drop down to the 50s at night. I''m a native Los Angelino so I get cold easily. Anyway, can I wear dress pants to a wedding or is that too casual. They didn''t really give any ideas as towhat to wear other than no heels.

It depends on the wedding. I know you said it was outside on a ranch which leads me to think it''s not a formal event. Do you know anyone close to the bride and groom whom you could ask? I think nice slacks would be OK as long as the rest of your outfit was dressy.
