I just wanted to show you all a trial bouquet a friend of mine made for me - the types and colors of flowers aren''t right - he literally was working with whatever they had at THE GROGERY STORE just to see if he could do it. I think it''s incredible for someone who got the instructions off google as to how to make a bouquet on his first try!

Anyway, if our bouquets are relatively simple (and i think they will be - we might do calla lilies or amaryllis) we might try to do them ourselves on his instructions....i thought they were just lovely. and just the thought that someone would want to help out in that way was really really touching. check it out!

Violet That is stunning your friend did an amazing job, I feel so inspired

My invites and STDs were DIY. My programs and Thank you cards also were but I don''t think I did a thread on those.

All of your DIY projects are fantastic.

I wish I had pictures of mine! So far we''ve (FI and I) made...

-Save the Dates
-Invitations

And i''ve made:

- My 3-tier cathedral length beaded-edge veil with detachable cathedral layer so I can wear the shorter layers for the reception (this took a while, but it''s what i''m the most proud of!)
- My themed garter
- rhinestone "Mrs." Underoos
-Personalized zip-up hoodies for me and my girls (kinda cheating, just iron on transfers I think... maybe some embroidery if I have time)
- Jazzed up the jewelry i got for my girls... like the bracelet style I got them but not the pendant, so I changed it out

Still on our to-do list:
- Printing out tags for cookies
- Baking, icing, packaging and tagging our favor cookies
- Programs
- Escort Cards
- Bubble Labels (my mom actually did the ribbons on the bubbles so I can''t take credit for that!)
- Table numbers

Wow. I feel crazy. We are nearing the end of our 10 month engagement and somehow this is all getting done at the same time we''re househunting and I''m a bridesmaid in two other weddings (and making a quilt for one of those weddings). I feel like we still have a ton to do, but I''m hoping to knock out everything but the favors next weekend.

Whew.

Caffiene much?

Hudson_Hawk: I''m looking into lining my envelopes myself as well. How many did you have to do, and how long did it take you? I think I''m going to go crazy lining mine (140) but they look soooo good that way. You did a good job! What kind of paper did you use?

I only had to do about 50. It wasn''t too bad, but it definitely took some time because I wanted to to look nice. I picked out some vellum-type paper from the paper wall at Michael''s and used a template made from an extra envelope to cut them out. I cut probably 2 at a time. The hardest part of the process was finding the right paper. The color I wanted apparently isn''t too popular, so I had to go to several stores to get enough.

Thanks Hudson Hawk...I was afraid you wouldn''t come back up here to see my question!

I''m having a hard time too...I''ve looked at craft paper, scrapbooking paper (which is EXPENSIVE if I''m doing 140), and wrapping paper. Thanks for the tips! They look really pretty!

DIY Guestbook. I made it with Snapfish.
Used Engagement Photos and love quotes on blank pages. This way we can use our guestbook all the time! It will be a coffee table book.

I LOVE this, what a great idea! Did you make it first with the pictures and quotes, then leave blank pages for people to sign at the wedding? Or did you do it the other way around, blank guest book then make this one afterwards?

Porridge!

Thanks! We are super excited about it. The guest books starts blank and everything is a point and click design with a lot of different choices. I found the quotes and added them on a blank page. We hope the guests will sign on the Quote Pages. We left lots of space. Its meant to be fun and a bit free, so anywhere is fine for us! Hopefully they will draw us some pictures too!

Good luck!
