It''s a GIA triple excellent but scored only 2.4 vg-vg-vg-vg on the HCA.

You aren''t missing anything, as Lorelei pointed out it''s getting penalized on the HCA. Unfortunately not all GIA Ex stones are that excellent when it comes to cut. With an idealscope image you can see if it''s a problem or not IRL, or you can keep looking.
