)! My gut feeling is that it''s going to be done here before we leave because he might be a bit scared about how the ring in pocket + metal detectors would work out, if we decide to travel to the airport together. But who knows?

Still, I keep thinking it''ll be on a weekend, Saturday I hope, so we can enjoy the weekend together being engaged before going back out into reality.

But only one weekend left before we fly to the US (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) so he better get crackin''!

Thanks for all your enthusiasm. Hopefully this thread won''t kill off your excitement when he actually does do it!

Just an FYI on the bold part above. I never set off the metal detectors with my ring on. I thought I might but apparently its not enough to do it. Its platinum, which I have no idea if that makes a difference in whether or not it will set off the detectors. I''ve know guys who have sewn the ring into a little pocket on their underwear so they wouldn''t have worry about their girlfriend seeing it in their bag if they get searched. They had no issues with the detector either.

He knows that two friends of ours want to throw us a party the first weekend (Sunday) we''re home, so if he is planning to wait to talk to my folks in person first, my guess is that we''ll be engaged either during or before that party on Sunday. Which would also be cool. I can be patient another couple of weeks.

Oh, I wasn''t much help because I love lots of types of flowers: roses, calla lilies, sunflowers, daisies--even dandelions.

I''ve done the SAME exact thing, haha! My guess was that he''d probably do it here in the flat, AND that he isn''t going to do it at home in the US because he won''t have any independent means of transportation. Theoretically, he COULD ask one of my parents or my brother to drive him somewhere to get stuff, but he''s probably too shy to do that. So I''m guessing this weekend before we fly, and then big celebrations when we get home!

But who knows, goodness knows I''ve been VERY wrong before.
