I thought of that too. A scientifically curious mind is good, right?

hmmmm, maybe i can get one of the males in my house to pee in our bushes too.

i DESPISE the oder of cat piss in all our shrubs... it is a huge problem in our neighborhood.

i am sure i wouldn''t have a problem getting one/or more of the males to mark the property.

if this works, then it would work for me.

(wait, do the males have to be in the reproductive stage?)

I believe Mr. LS is far past that....but all I can say is it works on foxes and coyotes...don''t know about kitty cats!

Ellen, you sure are getting a lot of mileage out of this peeing squirrel! Six pages of potty (sorta) jokes!

This one does her business in the sink!! Far worse than your doormat!

This thread has me laughing!!

Ladies, you are waaayyy too funny!

Anyway, SERIOUSLY now, I have some advise. Considering that we live in the Foothills of SoCal, we do have a lot of squirrels and I have had problems with some of them taking a liking to my flower beds and patio furniture. I got rid of them by buying Fox Urine pellets. Yup. They do exist. I sprinkle them the areas where they like to party and socialize every so often, and they assume that foxes have taken over their territory and they move on! Also works with cats and other small animals in the neighborhood. I got it online somewhere. They are not harmful to plants either and are odor-free (well, at least to humans, thank goodness).

We also had a neighborhood cat who liked to do her business on my rose bushes leading up to my front door: Solution? I sprinkle red pepper flakes all over the ground where they like to dig to do their business. Never been back.

Much luck with the rogue squirrel Ellen - I find them to be very smart creatures with a mean streak if provoked

Ellen, I have to tell you this story: The other day, I was coming home from work and walked up onto my porch so I could go in the front door. We have a flower bed right in front of our porch. (This would be the flower bed that Woodrow the Cat frequents.) As I walked up the steps and onto the porch, I heard a loud rustling in the bushes planted in that flower bed. I thought to myself, "Gee, Self, I wonder what''s in the bushes?!?!" Just about that time, a big black and white furry face poked out of the bushes, looked both ways, looked at me with a look that said "Oh, snap, I''m BUSTED!" and ran off like a streak to hide under the neighbor''s porch. It wasn''t Woodrow, but Thomas, his enormous brother! Seriously, this is the biggest cat I''ve ever seen! He''s been known to take down rabbits! He''s very sweet and cuddly, but he is FREAKIN'' HUGE!!! And up until now, we had never seen him in our flower bed . . . I guess Woodrow told Thomas what a great potty our flower bed makes!!!

Holly, thanks for the pics.

And yes, we have had a bit of fun here. Nothing wrong with being a little "squirrely" once in awhile.

Hearting, thanks for the tip on the fox urine pellets! I will keep those in mind, though I''m thinking it would be easier and cheaper to use hubby''s urine....
