I was thinking this as well recently...how much torture can one poor gal take?!
This is what happens when you have both people on ONE board...expectations are set!!
Poor Rand...he may be planning something really awesome that has a timeline but all she can think about is her lonely ring!!
Hang in there Nic...I had to wait too and I pushed him into doing it on a WEEKDAY as opposed to waiting for something potentially spectacular on a weekend, and afterwards I wished that I'd waited the few extra days when he told me what he was *thinking* of doing..a night of pampering at our favorite resort.

How funny is this post? Actually last night I found out that he had planned to do it the weekend he got my ring (not on V-day, but probably Sunday) and he had gotten some bad news at work that made him so upset and so flustered he had to reschedule it all...He alluded to it slightly, and it was so sad...not even being selfish, but it knocked the wind out of him, so that he couldn't even propose with a smile!
So, we have both decided as much TORTURE as it is for any human being to have touched your diamond, and not see it for a month or so, we will wait. Get our ducks in a row where we are more settled and in a happier state of mind. We actually had to cancel our fabulous vacay plans (and lose money on the tickets) because of his work, and that made me sad/frustrated, he was sad/frustrated because of work, so we both would be really odd at a proposal, getting all excited, then falling back into a gloomy slump.
I would rather see us both happy and smiling, and get proposed to that way, than just get it like that. Mara, you are right, maybe it's better to wait...but LORD is it trying on my nerves with all my friends getting engaged around me this past month (4 announcements so far) !!!

Well, I feel it this month, but who knows...I am figuring to be a real pain in my butt, he'll do it on April Fools Day! I'd kill him!
Our plan is resolve the work stuff this week, and for the time we took off from work for our "cancelled" vacation, maybe push those days a week or so, head out for an impromptu vacay and maybe it can happen there...

Thanks, and the whole work thing is soon resolved...but it requires patience that is hard to have when discussing the whole diamond business. If I was waiting for say a new fridge, I could wait....but a sparkly diamond...C'MON! It's taking lots of self-control and strength...Plus, I am buying gemstones and jewlery pieces all over to satiate myself for now!!! Hee Hee!!

Are those Mickey Mouse gloves? LOL!! You keep the mouse gloves, I keep the car. Why is this fair? It's not, but it's not more unfair than sleeping outside on the doorstep.
That said, I went to our jeweler who was attending to a lady who was looking for 4 ct radiants (for earrings...) She had a 6 carat radiant with 2.5 carat sides trilliants on it. I have decided that either I get MY radiant, or I get the car.
Your choice. Oh and the Tiara and the 6ct ring too...

Well, we went on vacation to the USVI, staying at St. Thomas. It was so picture perfect and the most exciting thing about the trip was...THE RING! I have pictures of the place where he proposed and the ring itself (at least a hundred pictures) that my camera's battery died. I can't find my charger/idealbb/images/smilies/cry.gif, so I am going out today to buy one, upload the pictures and have them up hopefully tonight!

Oddly, I didn't want to take this ring OFF!!! Since it's a very light simple WG setting, it's like not wearing anything...When it will be set in platinum I'll feel the weight of this ball and chain...oops, I mean ring!
I went to Barnes & Nobles today to buy 6 different Bridal magazines...Lord! It's starting, and we aren't even going to have a wedding until 2006!!!
