I heard the news on the radio, so I I had not seen any of this. I thank you so much for posting a link to the video, Matata. It was incredibly moving. I have watched the Obama/Biden friendship grow over the past eight years and felt like a part of it. Seeing Vice-President Biden's eyes fill with tears, his humility, as he received the medal, was worth its weight in gold. I recently enjoyed hearing (on the radio) a reporter describe his great enjoyment at swearing in the new members of the Senate. The reporter took her time to describe the task and how it would be the last time he would do it and how boring it would be for more most outgoing Vice-Presidents, but how much true enjoyment Joe Biden was getting out of it, because it was a part of his job and he truly loved every part of his Senate job. He is really a lovely human being.

PS-I didn't know that the medal came in different levels and could be given "with distinction". I am very glad that President Obama gave Vice-President Biden that extra honor.
