Britney Spears welcomes second son

US Weekly reports that Britney Spears gave birth to a 6 pound, 11 ounce baby boy just before 2 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on September 12! http://www.usmagazine.com/node/1869

It was widely speculated in the media that the baby was going to be a girl (or maybe just wishful thinking?), but I think it''s nice that Sean Preston has a brother so close in age!

I read just the other day that she had registered for a bunch of girly stuff, but maybe she was just playing with the media's heads.

ETA: Congratulations . . . I guess. Babies are always wonderful, but it's hard to get excited about the family this one's going home to.

Not to change the subject, but does anyone know when carseats became mandatory? FI''s mom said the other day that none of her kids had carseats. Her youngest just turned 20. I''m 23 and I know I always had a carseat.

The year the laws went into effect probably varies by state, but my oldest is 14 and carseats were a given when she was born.
