Hey PSers,

Anyone here have an Essentia Mattress? If so, do you love it? Which style did you end up going with?

I am looking for a new mattress in the least toxic category and am open to other brand options if you love yours.

Hey, I'm always interested in low toxic beds. As I understand this, the toxic chemicals are from the fire retardants. If you buy a latex bed, its already not flammable so they aren't soaked and sprayed in that heavily carcinogenic flame retardant.

I love my latex pillows. LOVE them. So I'm thinking I would really like a latex bed. There is a company in Phoenix that makes them, there are two choices for types of latex, and then you can select from options to customize your bed, including making the side for your significant other customized to their body weight and sleep preferences, you get to have your own preferences. Not bad.

I'm waiting for my Costco foam bed to die, then I plan to pull the trigger on a latex bed.

It's insanely comfy. It's natural. But not sure where you heard that. It's VERY flammable. The thing saving you is certainly not any characteristic of natural latex, it's the cover. Maybe.

Video of a piece of latex going up in about 3 seconds.

OK...

We have the Natural Latex vZone Mattress. Like most of their mattresses, it's customizable for each side.

If I had it to do over, I would go down to the Natural Latex Deluxe, which doesn't have the zoning. I couldn't tell that it was worth the up-charge. The rest of it is wonderful, including the cover, which zippers on and off for airing and cleaning.

I do love the mattress, which has been totally wonderful for me - soft(ish) and fluffy for me to nest in. My husband, not so much, and his side is the firmest latex they have. Even he is perplexed. But then he's having all sorts of back issues of late, so he's just not happy anywhere, sleep-wise. The dangers of getting old, I suppose. :)

We have Strobels. I love those beds. http://strobel.com/

Their website is not much to look at admittedly.

Pricey? yes. But they last quite a long time. The old bed we had is now in the guest room and thats from the late 90's! They do have to be turned couple of times a year but do hold up well.

The kingsize we have is a supplepedic 3000. Over the last 10 years or so, I have to admit a firmer mattress is better for me when I sleep. The other beds are members of their respective 4500 series (one of them is an SP), which are more cushy.
