Thanks Linda for the kind words.
The vendor photo of that stone is on the previous page, and as you can see, the cutting is atrocious. It''s probably too difficult to see in this picture. I only posted it because I love the color, and the camera kept washing out the color on my shrunken images.

Oh the color on that cuprian is lovely. I understand what you mean when you say that color is everything in gemstones. I think I''ll go off and clean some rings now. Tomorrow I''ll try to get some good photos.

OK, everyone, get inspired to take more pictures BUT don''t forget to clean the stone first.

Thanks for the pictures TL. I have to see your entire collection with your new camera. Hopefully, the new digicam will show up soon.

Gemnut,
What are they (ring and the earrings)?

ETA
I see that they are orange sapphires.

Oops! I guess I didn''t mention it on my post, sorry! Yes, they are orange sapphires, heated only, stones bought separately and custom-set in yellow gold with E-VVS1 diamonds, small but blindingly bright! The ring sapphire is 3+ carats and the earring sapphires are about 1.80 cts total weight. The accet diamonds are 0.18 on he ring and 0.24 on the earrings.

New digicam today - Nikon Coolpix. Introducing my new pics with camera!! I''m still trying to get the hang of how to take good pics, and I don''t know how to get good focus, but here are three stones of mine that I consider to be of decent color.

4 carat mandarin spessartite
~2 carat Mozambique cuprian (some people call this paraiba africana)
1.1 carat Nigerian rubellite

Mandarin up close with new digicam. It's pretty much a straight orange. Not a lot of yellow or red.

Yippee! I finally see her gemstones clearly. No more gray backgounds and weird colours.

Thanks Chrono,
One more for tonight, and I''ll take more tomorrow. I like this pic of my little 1.5 carat cuprian, not so much for the stone (although I love the stone), but because the camera takes such detailed pics, you can see the dry skin on my fingers (not sure if that''s a good thing???).

This the reason why I refuse to post any pictures where my hand is showing:
1. I can see every crease and crevase even though I don''t see them in person. It makes it look like I have 80 year old hands.
2. I actually noticed some fine finger hair!

One more, it''s fuzzy, but I think it shows off the colors well.

Here''s the oval cuprian in the morning sunlight. Pictures of it with my old camera are on the prior couple pages.

Another pic of one of my most neon cuprians in the morning sun. The prior pictures of this stone were taken in artificial light. One of the amazing things about these stones is that they hold their color in most light sources.

The stone is much cleaner to the eye from a distance.

My 2.8 carat trillion mint green grossular. One of the things my last camera couldn''t capture was all the colors that come off of this stone. You get blue, green, yellow, and it''s really amazing.

Here''s a blurry pic of the stone representing more of what I truly see. Green is still so hard to capture on camera.

Mint grossular, Malaya and rubellite in morning diffused light. True rubellite is another gem that holds it's color in most lighting. The malaya turns more peachy in natural light.

Three spinels. For some reason I can''t get them in focus (need more camera playing). The outer two lilac and violet and are 1.5 carats each and from ebay, and the middle one is from MultiColour.com - a cheapy closeout special Burma spinel of .61 carats in a purplish pink color.
