If you decide to keep it (or they don't offer returns),
If you can return it (or choose to),

What would be a good store to go to? I don't want to get anything online because I'm just not too comfortable with that. I live around the Boston area.

Welcome to the club. . . Most newbies here were not comfortable with buying online when they first came to PS. 1-2 weeks later they are educated and know how to minimize their risks and get the best value for their budget.
Using an independent appraiser is key to buying with comfort. Most of the vendors will send your pick to a local appriaser where you can view the stone together before buying (no risk). Use your credit card to add to your comfort level.
One common route is to buy the stone online and get the setting done locally.
Here is a 0.79 winner that leaves you $1.5k for a setting $2961S
