The table and depth are too large. The depth and table onthis stone are much better.
Does this stone have a certificate from a reputable lab such as the GIA or the AGS? Let us know. The price is very low for a well cut stone with the specs you provided, so what is the catch? Are you getting the deal of the century? Probably not. It's probably the cut, and maybe the lack of a highly regarded certificate.
These emerald cut stones come with all the info to determine if the cut is good (and believe me, these are good!). Notice the depth and table on these (but remember, depth and table do not determine cut alone). Unfortunately, none seemed to be comparable in price and size to what you were looking for.
This chart will give you some guidelines for cut. If you're set on H VS2 for that price, you could get a potentially better cut stone such as this one.
Let us know what you're looking for exactly in terms of price, color, clarity, and size.
From the data you provided, the stone is EGL Israel graded.
It doesn't look too good to me. The table is very large. You may want to stay in the 65% range.
In addition, I am going to be viewing the stone on Monday. What should I be looking for to evaluate the impact of the table and depth on the appearance of the diamond? I have read that a deep diamond will look "dark". Can anyone tell me what I should look for to identify a "dark" diamond? Thanks for your help.
