Hi CaptAubrey
Although the diamond not attractive to the eye, the vendor’s description is pretty is good and not misleading.
This could be a very interesting collection piece for study, so would agree with description as “Museum Quality” Blue-Grey color, Opaque areas, marble like inclusions, wonderful stuff for the inquiring mind.
Don’t think my wife would like it though

I wouldnt pay 1200 for it but it is kinda unusual and kinda neat looking.
I like it.

at $100, it's an interesting collector's stone. at $1200...

could be it's a bunch of wealthy rockhounds bidding on it.

Its pattern looks a lot like a Petosky stone. I wouldn't chuck it into Lake Michigan if I found it on the beach...but, I wouldn't pay $20 for it if I found it in a souvenier shop.

I'd buy it for 20 bucks then I would throw it in a drawer with the rest of the rock collection I made up back when I was in Highschool.

It wouldn't be the first time I spent money on something that I bought and never looked at again.

Red Diamond?
Here's STEAL of a deal for a RARE red diamond, as a 3ct or so sold at Christie's for $100K+... retail value of a 4.4ct RED stone is $8K...since WHEN?!

Now I've seen everything!

Its another one that the real value is someplace in the $20-$100 range to a rock hound or who knows ground up as industrial diamond.
Which is where these would usualy end up crushed up as industrial diamond.
I actualy like this one more than the one above.

Is the demand for all those drilling, cutting and polishing tools going down??? Why can't they just sell these roungh... It's not all that easy to find a nicely formed, interesting diamond crystal (unusual inclusions and colors with a bonus of course).

Too bad...

I can certainly see why it went "unclaimed".

I've been poking my head around ebay for little diamonds. I have to say that the good deal for a nice, well cut stone are far and few between.

Wow, those are rather ugly! I can see only a jaded diamond collector bidding on them!

Well...

This at this white round brilliant from the same seller...

I'm anxious to see what that goes for.

I am not a bit surprise that someone would try to seel such thimgs... but someone actually buys them - that is the puzzling part. True, this seller does not have all-positive feedback, and some of the comments marked "green" contain negative comments... But it is still amazing how fat they went before getting any negative feedback at all.

I doubt there is any formal explanation for this. Any opinions ?
