Hi all

I have finally made my final choice - the Solasfera!

I know many of you prefer the 57 ideal but for now, I want a Solasfera to "play" with.

In the east part of the globe, the Solasfera is totally unheard of and very very uncommon.

The 57 ideal cut is common in every jewellery shop... so I just want to own something different....

If I do not like the Solasfera, I can still go to NY next year to upgrade my stone to a 57 ideal cut with Jon.

Wait for my pictures ya... I have planned to collect the stone end October!

Different is good especially when it is so yummy

But you have to wait till end of Oct? Hats off to you... it would kill me to wait that long since I am a I want it yesterday kind of gal. Have you decided on the setting? Oooooo how exciting!

Because the stone looks busier (solasfera) and is only 1.52 ct, I thought a simplier setting fits better.

I have 2 settings in mind:

(1) tiffany knife edge 2mm 4 prongs
(2) gabriel pave (see link below)

sure i will post the pictures.. end october...

also i will try post pictures of another new ring, which I am collecting tomorrow evening...

It is an inspiration from the tiffany atlas ring.. but instead of the roman characters 3,6,9,12... I have put my marriage date in roman characters on it.. .. i have custom made from a local jeweller here...
It has 38 very small diamonds on it...

yes,,, there are only 1.5X stocks of E, F, G, H colour and VS2 and SI1.

So I am left with not much choices...
There were 3 stones for my consideration:
(1) E, VS2
(2) F. VS2
(3) G, VS2

I told Jon 2 hours (via email) that I want to buy one of the 3 stones.. but I have not chosen which colour.. I told him to choose for me

....

do you have suggestion to the colour? the difference between each colour is about 2K..

Man, I will have to vote for the Gabriel pave because that is the setting I have (sooooo I am a tad bias). It is a very simple and elegant without being busy but adding a little ommph! And your stone is going to look HUGE.

Ohh I know about watching the video... I did the same thing and now my 6yr old sings money can''t buy you love all the time.

Unless you are very color sensitive, I would go with the G VS2, and save the $$$ for other fun jewelry projects!

Jon (from GOG) recommends E... and the price difference is about US$ 3K.
I dont mind E but thought a G is as good. In fact in terms of diameter, the G is very very slightly bigger.. though they are both 1.52 ct

Opppps I am late. My vote is for the G. I think the G is going to be stunningly white and when mounted, you probably will never be able to see the slight...very slight difference in color, especially when compared to another diamond that is not well cut so I would go with G and spend the money you save on matching earrings.More bling for the money.
