10 lbs 5 hours on high!
I was counting on 8 hours so its done and dinner was spose to be 4 hours away.
Luckily I called my guests and they are gonna come early.
Didnt get all the cleaning done but oh well! :{

It turned out so moist! yummy!!!!!!!!

10 lb turkey is the perfect size for a 3.5qt oval crock pot it completely fills it.

We are having broccoli rice and cornbread stuffing with it! :}
Yummy!

DF when you gonna be here?

it was easy just throw it in with some water for 5 hours.
made microwave rice from a box premixed and stove top dressing.
Took all of 20 min work to do the whole meal and not a lot of cleanup.
mega yummy :}

! Just Amazing!!!

Ok, so spill the beans ... about how much water did you add, and also ... what do you do about all the juice or drippings that come from the bird? Is there quite a bit? I wonder if it would be enough to make some gravy with?

Have a great day Storm

Hey Storm,
Instead of water can you use chicken broth?? If so how much?? 1 can or two?? Or if using water, how many cups??

I put about 3 cups of water in the bottom.
about maybe 3/4 of an inch.
Just enough to keep it from scorching.
then put the turkey in.
You can strain the juice and make gravy out of it if you want.
soup isnt really needed the juice from the turkey flavors it enough.
I thought about saving the broth for soup but im not really into soup.
next time im going to use the broth instead of water to make the stove top it adds a nice flavor but I didnt think of it this time.

I thought about using an injector kit to inject honey water into it but forgot to pick up some honey.
I love honey turkey.
Honestly it was juicy enough so it wasnt really needed.
The turkey will likely come apart getting it out which is fine with me because I carve and platter rather than carve and serve turkey.

Im going to put a couple peeled and cored apples in the cavity next time I think if I dont do the honey injection.
The kewl thing about cooking it in the crock pot is that its sorta steam cooked in the breast area so it is real moist.
overall it was one of the best turkeys iv made and iv made hundreds (used to do a turkey dinner at church and id use electric roasters and 4 stoves to cook 20 18-20lb turkeys every year for about 10 years growing up, with help of course but when i was older I was in charge of em and did all the carving )
