I attempted to do this yesterday, but just couldn't get motivated. I just sat there staring at this stone.
Today, I tried again and I came up with this ring.
I've had this stone for a real long time. I was told it was Sleeping Beauty, but I'm not sure. It was in an earring, then a ring, neither of which I was crazy about. So I reset it once again, hopefully in it's forever home!

That is beautiful and amazing! :kiss2:

And I love his (?) crooked smile of veining!

Ahahaha! I never noticed that till you mentioned it!
It's very happy to be in a new setting!

You would be surprised how hard it is to bend that half-round wire sideways.....it is good for a ring shank, but forming it in this fashion is a challenge!

^ Now that you mention it, I see what you mean! It would not want to bend that way! Seems like you would almost have to constrain it in the vertical plane (like between two thick glass plates) to keep it from "flipping."

Yes, it tried to "flip". The outer edge of the wire has to stretch, and the inner edge has to contract. So it kept trying to curl up. I had to repeatedly pound it flat with a hammer.
Next time, I'm using full round wire!

Another masterpiece. Glad you waited until you felt equal to the challenge of working with the wire, etc because the outcome is sublime. I can definitely see how this might be SB turquoise. Just so beautiful! Looks great on you!

Thanks everyone! I really enjoy making my own jewelry, and I'm always learning. Sterling silver is very forgiving, thankfully!
Everytime I make something, I redo it in my head and vow to do better next time.
