Hi PSers!

I’ve been browsing for a while and finally decided to make an account to ask for advice.

I’d love a yellow diamond ring. My budget isn’t big, and I’d likely purchase the diamond and then take some time to save and finalize what I would like for a setting.

These are some of the inspiration photos for rings I like:

Ideally, I’d like to keep the diamond under $1500, which I know would limit me to 0.5ct-0.6ct from the research I’ve done. This is ok with me, as it would likely be set in a double halo.

I found this heart on James Allen. I love it, but I guess my concern is that I would get tired of the shape, as it’s not a “classic” shape.

Any recommendations or thoughts? I’m not well versed on fancy colors. I know I’d prefer a buttery yellow color instead of an orange or brown yellow.

Welcome to PS!

Another fellow yellow diamond lover here.

The JA stone that you linked seems to have a nice intense color. For a heart shape, it appears to be a nice FIY diamond.

I see that in your inspiration pics, you also have cushion and pear shapes. Do you know which one you lean most toward? They are all different, but great shapes for fancy diamonds as they retain color well.

Here is a pretty pear: https://www.leibish.com/yellow-diamonds/fancy-intense-yellow-pear-33533

Here is a smaller, but prettt radiant: https://www.leibish.com/yellow-diamonds/fancy-intense-yellow-radiant-29135

And if you are open to preloved, here is a beautiful FIY ring which is above budget, but it comes with a halo setting which seems to be in like with your inspiration pics: https://loupetroop.com/listings/rin...ng-fancy-intense-yellow-diamond-gia-halo-ring

I wouldn’t mind a cushion, but most of the ones I’ve found seem to be more brown or washed out in color.

I absolutely love the pear, and would love to have a ring like that, but already have a different pear ring so I don’t feel a yellow diamond pear ring would get much use unfortunately.

I really really love the heart from JA. As you mentioned, it has a great color. My only concern would be creating a setting that would be classic.

I like the look of the double halos in the inspiration pictures, especially with one halo being yellow and one white to create that contrast.

I like the pear you linked. The color is great. I’m not a huge fan of radiants unfortunately.

Check out diamonds by Lauren. The have lots of fancy and alphabet yellows. They also have lovely halo settings.

What is your total budget?

Two observations:
1. Very-cheaply-made double-halo settings tend to look very-cheaply made - much moreso than single-halo or non-halo designs.
2. It is often most cost-effective to buy stone and setting from the same vendor.

I will second the recommendation to contact David at DBL:

Leibish.com is useful also! Do you know what type of yellow you want? Light, orangey, intense yellow etc?

Hi,

Some of the recommendations were for IGI diamonds - I personally would stay away of these when it comes to fancy color diamonds.

Anyhow, I now see that this post is going on for a while - I wondered if any decisions were made and any pictures to share... :)
