Hi all, this has been a very helpful community and I appreciate all the knowledgeable posts. As a beginner, I've been doing research on this 2.124ct G VS1 ACA from Whiteflash and was wondering what the yellow in the Hearts image means? The symmetry otherwise seems pretty good, any other thoughts on it?

I am comparing to this one, which doesn't have any yellow:

Thanks,

It doesn't mean anything - just an artifact from the imaging process.

Thanks! Any thoughts on the 2.195 ct (second link)? I realized the inclusions are harder to see on that one compared to the 2.124.

I noticed the 2.195ct is reserved. Is that you? I hope so.

Both are VS1's so you won't ever see the imperfections without magnification. That said, the videos they shot are magnified and the 2.195ct is more clear and just pops!

And both are incredibly beautiful. I would have WF pull both them and discuss what their gemologists finds comparing the two. From the videos, I would choose the 2.195ct myself if you are okay with the money aspect. There is a decent premium for that stone, although there is little difference in weight, size, etc.

Not trying to sway you, but if you aren't sure here is another consideration.

If you aren't familiar with BGD & the Black series: Brian helped co-found WF and develop the ACA line. And the Black series is what he currently considers his current premier cut.

This is an interesting question and we have be a little puzzled by it as well. It tends to show up on larger stones more than on smaller ones. The strange thing is that there is no yellow object in the lighting environment, which makes it a bit of a mystery. It seems like it must be the result of dispersion.

Having said that, colors are completely irrelevant in terms of the type of information the hearts image is designed to convey. This diagnostic is solely designed to illustrate the optical precision of the cut. (Also refered to as optical symmetry or 3d symmetry).
