I don't post very often, but I just got some very good news and have to tell someone. Since everyone else is asleep, I will share it here. I just heard that my Career award for young faculty from national science foundation will most likely be approved. I am an assistant professor, and this is my first grant that I wrote all by myself to be funded. It is a rather prestigious award, and greatly increases your chances of getting tenure. I wasn't very happy with how my proposal had turned out, so I am surprised and incredibly pleased.
I have been feeling bummed out and not very good at my job recently, so this came at a great time. I am also heading to India on Sunday, to get married on Dec 29. I am going to enjoy my wedding a lot more after hearing this news. So yay in all ways.
