WWYD? diamond trinity ring, buy from Cartier? or go custom?

I'm sort of on the look out for an engagement band, I've been in love with the Cartier Trinity ring for a few years, so that's a design I'm strongly considering, but I think $13,800 for a 1,6cttw 18k diamond band is a bit much, especially since I'd like it in platinum.

Do you think I should consider having a PS-vendor like BGD or WF make me a trinity ring inspired by the Cartier one? Or is it a bad idea to try to replicate a "complicated" and well known design like that?

What are your thoughts?

I *think* Gabriel & Sons might make one (my local jeweler has one in the case, I thikn that's the brand...?), though I dont know if all three rings had diamonds. I also think Memoire does as well. Both would be significantly more affordable than Cartier.

I know Memoire carries it, but I *think* I like the bead-set one that Cartier makes.

I tried googling Gabriel & Sons, it didn't come up, maybe they don't have a website?

Eitherway, I'm all the way on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, so I can't try any of these rings.

Gabriel does have a site but I don't see this ring on it. That I think is beadset...but Im sure the quality of stones is not on par with Cartier or Memoire.

OGI is another brand that does one, and I think Hidalgo might too. But the only Hidalgo I found on their site looks tri colored. Its' in 2010 band collection.

I think it's a bit thinner than the Cartier, and I'm sure it's not the same quality but I thought I'd share it. I think one of the frequently used vendors on here could make an even better version of it but this is what I found with a quick search. I quite like the style of it.

If I were to get the plain trinity band I'd go with Cartier. I couldn't/wouldn't pay the premium for the diamond version though. I'd contact BGD and a few others for quotes and see what they say. It never hurts to inquire!
