Yeah, let's just say it's ok to loot, I'll pay for it. BU!!sh!t

What happened to Law and order? Ice Cube should be arrested for encouraging violence. Where does it stop? I say arrest all of the idiots - they're not making a point and not creating "change" which should have been done in the previous administration - promised but never fully brought to the table.

Applauds loudly!!!!!

Since this thread is entitled wtf, I thought this article would be appropriate!
These are the real looters! To the tune of millions! Hope they are forced to return taxpayers’ money! Arrested for fraud? You weigh in!

I think IceCube (as handsome as I’ve always thought he was) is doing this to bridge the gap between his gangster persona vs his capitalist persona.

kidding, but not really.
the persona fence sitting. Not the handsome part. That I’m stone dead serious on.

Yes, this certainly falls under the category of WTF. Thank you for sharing - many crooked politicians.

Did I read the article differently than everyone else here? I read this as “if you aren’t able to arrest anyone, I’ll cover the cost”. Seems like everyone else here read it as “if you drop it, I’ll cover the cost.”, but he didn’t say that?

This happened in my greater metro area...

“No arrest and I’ll cover the $100k. Deal?”

His intent seems pretty clear. Don‘t arrest the easily identifiable people in the video he will pay back the $100k.

I read it this way too.

...so?

It’s his money to offer freely. Where was the WTF post when George Floyd’s neck was being crushed?

Me three

That’s no “article” ... it does nothing more than call out Ice Cube’s 8-word tweet for people who - wisely - don’t follow him. There’s no interview, no follow-up for context or clarification ... it is literally three sentences, one of which paraphrased the tweet. Critical thinking and reading comprehension skills, folks!

No, Ice Cube is not offering to “right wrongs“ committed via the criminal looting activity as some act of (faux) charity. He said:
No arrest and I’ll cover the $100k. Deal?

For those who need help, “...deal?” communicates a clear condition on the $100k ... “don't arrest them and I’ll give you ... “. Also known as a “quid pro quo” (psst ... someone tell Adam Schiff).

What’s worse is he probably tweeted that idiocy from his super-comfy couch inside one of his mansions located in a gated community patrolled by armed security. Translation: he’s too rich/famous to break the law so he encourages others to earn a criminal record ... impacting their future ... not his.

Sadly, a bunch of dummies will cheer and applaud him for it without realizing he’s actually hurting not only “the cause”, but people in his own community.

Oh. I read it the wrong way. Thank you for pointing it out.

I don’t know what the “right” way is, just that I couldn’t get enough information from that single tweet.

Oh. I read it the wrong way. Thank you for pointing it out.

I read this as “if you aren’t able to arrest anyone, I’ll cover the cost” I had been thinking: will arrests result in "covering the cost"? Looters have no money, they even can't return stolen goods. They only may face punishment, spend some time behind bars and do some community service after being released from prison. So I think you initially were correct: don't arrest looters and I will pay then. Sorry, my English is bad, I hope you understand what I mean.

A clear explanation, he is saying: Ice Cube wanted to make sure that no one involved found themselves in trouble, so when he saw that CBS News tweeted the clip of the looters, he offered up a solution. "No arrest and I’ll cover the $100k. Deal?"

Yeah, there's a role model for you.

The exaggerated reaction to Ice Cube’s proposal feels racist to me. Where’s the WTF post for all of the police violence that occurred AFTER George Floyd?

No, let’s focus on a musician instead. That’s acceptable in the white world.

This isn’t about looting. It’s about the stigma that a black rapper carries.

I love him, but that's stupid. Give that to the workers. The company can afford every penny of that loss.

No, it's about a person (don't give a crap about what color they are as I have said in all my posts) that is saying it's ok to loot because I will just cover the cost, I don't want anyone to get in trouble. If a white person said that I would feel the same, it just happens that a black man said it.

There are many posts about police violence I can't post or comment about EVERYTHING.

I give up posting on all this stuff (GF, Looting, Riots, etc.) from now on. No matter what, if you’re white, your wrong, or you have white privilege, etc. just done with reverse racism.
