Would You Buy Uncertified Diamonds for Earrings?

I am looking to buy some huggies and eventually studs. For the huggies, I am looking for around 2 ctw, 10 20-pointer diamonds. For studs, I am looking for as close to 2 ctw (but a little less is better since I know the price rises at 1 carat mark). If the diamonds are for earrings, how important is the certification? If I buy from a trusted PS vendor and ask them to choose the best cut and eyeclean diamonds they can find, would that be a reasonable way to go? I would not mind K color and even SI2 as long as excellent cut, eyeclean, and no durability issues.

Studs yes huggies not so much just my opinion. Speaking as a person who had three sets of uncertified studs and ended up with a 4th pair that is......so happy now

I bought a pair of Pre Loved OECs 1.48 tctw that the seller bought from JbEG. I had them appraised and they were graded as they were sold to me. I think it depends on the source.

20 pointers don't usually come with certs so I'd buy 2ct huggies from a PS vendor. I wouldn't buy 2ct studs without certs.
