I''ve seen his asschers in person and they really are something. Good "deals" can be found online...

Would any of you pay the premium for a Daniel K stone, knowing that it is the top and cut to beautiful proportions?

i would --a deal is only a deal if you are getting exactly what you want.

There's no need, aparently

"Daniel K" happens to be the design line of a large diamond cutting enterprise (link to article)... that also supplies Asschers to places like Blue Nile and NiceIce here. 'Guess the "Modern cushions" bought by Moremoremore (was it from Engagementringsdirect ?) are of this breed.

Fine cut diamonds allright, but not much reason to call them "D/K. exclusive".

Same goes for the rings - they really look wonderfully made, but it is feasible to obtain the same quality elsewhere. Brand stamps are unique... but few other things are.

Yes, I''d buy his stuff in a heartbeat - w/ the premium.

I love his work, it''s stunning - and every stone I''ve seen has been gorgeous.

thanks for clarifying Ana. In my case I had a hard time having something made exactly to my specs and in fact had to compromise. So it might be hard to truly replicate the whole ring to one''s liking..........................

I tend to forget that... It''s hard enough to obtain comparable quality (definitely had Art of Platinum in mind when writing that) but to ask an accomplished bench jeweler to duplicate a design might not be an option at all. My jeweler doesn''t see the point of accepting someone else''s ideas either - and that includes clients. Not that I feel much differently about my (unrelated) own work

The part about diamonds seems more readily feasible. So if the original question was indeed about diamonds only, the note on DD Manufacturing applies.

If I were considering the whole package with setting, the answer would be YES. I too love his work!

Can someone post a link to Daniel K''s website? Thanks

Only if I found something I really loved. He''s got nice stuff but nothing that I really wanted.

Perhaps. I''ve tried on almost every asscher e-ring he makes and they''re stunning. But they are PRICEY. I am also a Leon fan. But if I wanted a Daniel K ring, I''d probably go through niceice.com since they seem to carry MOST of the DK line. Well, I don''t know if they have the rosebud, which I also like, but they do have the boxter and the pave regal. At the B&M where I tried on the DK stuff the prices were just jaw-dropping. A 2ct boxter was liike, no lie, 56,000. Um, helloooo??!!! I''d go the custom route a la Leon (or through niceice or the like) unless money was really no object. And even then I don''t think I''d be able to stomach it.

Oh, Sevens, it''s www.danielk.net Prepare to drool!!!
