Would this be worth considering?

I don’t want to identify the stone because I’m interested and would prefer to not aid in someone swooping in (if it’s a good deal).

The stone is an H SI1. It’s over 2cts and within budget (if I adjust my previous one a little). I’m attaching the pics from Whiteflash and the HCA tool in the next comment. As I’m new to this, can you more knowledgeable PSers tell if this should be a contender?

Thank you for your input.

I like it. Have you inquired if it is, indeed, “eye clean”? The inclusion along the table is a bit of a concern, but WF can determine if it will detract or cause performance issues.

It looks great providing it's eye clean to your preferences, it looks like an inclusion is reflecting around the stone so check with WF to be sure it meets your expectations in that regard.

No, I haven’t yet. What specifically should I be asking? (I found the stone this morning and have yet to contact anyone at WF about or any other stone. I’m a complete noob to this.)

Reach out to WF, and ask their gemologist to give details about the clarity; it does state “Inquire”.
Also, ask them to place it on hold for further evaluation, until you can decide if you are ready to purchase.

What shows on the report looks so minimal. But I know from reading here that this is just one of many tools we need to look at and shouldn’t be a deciding factor. BDBA7010-8AA2-4973-8321-AD3F2C4B27A3.jpeg

This is true. Just remember, the larger the stone, the more obvious the inclusions can appear. It’s best to check with WF‘s gemologist.

Stone has been reserved and I should get an email today from Becca at WF with the additional input on it. :D

Thanks so much, y’all! I appreciate the guidance.

Post the response here if you wish. I like the table size and fatter arrows.

“I was able to pull this diamond to inspect for you and can absolutely confirm it's a stunner! It has fantastic edge to edge light return and tons of fire, brilliance and sparkle. As an ACA I expected no less. =)

When it comes to clarity this diamond didn't meet our 10 inch standard as it has some darker inclusions that our gemological team could see without magnification. When I looked at the diamond I was able to pick up on those areas from around 8-6 inches but even then it was much more hidden than I expected given the color and location of these inclusions. When I rocked the diamond slowly and knew just where to look then I was able to pick up on them a little easier but don’t think this would be an issue under more casual observation. They in no way impact the beauty or performance of the stone and I know this would be a diamond I would wear and love to own myself. In the end this is a beautiful diamond and you’re going to be the only person who knows for sure what level of eye clean is going to work for you.

I’ve attached a few hand shots and very quick video I did for you while I looked it over. These are all done in daylight balanced office lighting. No LED or special lights at all and much what you’d see on a daily basis. =)

It looks beautiful as one would expect, now it's a decision whether the stone is going to be eye clean ' enough' for you.

I don’t know if I would pick up on it or not. Honestly. I’m just really learning about all of this and so I don’t study diamonds the way others here might. My plan is to put it in a six prong solitaire (for now). Would that make a difference?

What would you do? Based off my searches, it hits on all cylinders with the exception of what she sees. But will I see it like she does? (After all, it’s her job to notice every detail.) Then again, the largest round I’ve had has been half the size of this one, so maybe I would see it.

What to do, what to do?

That doesn't look eye clean enough to me, especially since the inclusions are dark colored. I don't think prongs will be able to cover all of those dark spots up.

Now I’m even more in my head. Neither my husband nor myself can see any major issue with these pictures or video. I know it’s because we don’t know exactly what we are looking for.

I know I want a playful diamond that loves to sparkle. I don’t want chunks of carbon glaring at me. I don’t want it cloudy or yellow.

Now I have to decide if this diamond does all that to my satisfaction or if I should keep looking. I know if I knew more, I’d probably keep looking. But given that this is at the edge of my financial comfort level, do I take the plunge or redefine my parameters (smaller stone, which is fine, or better clarity and more money)? *sigh* <hashtag> firstworldproblems

The problem is once you see the inclusions it's pretty much impossible to unsee them. For the amount of money you are spending you shouldn't settle....get something that you will stare at happily every day.

Can you remind us of your budget and desired specs? I have a few in mind, but want to meet your brief.

I’m not a clarity stickler, so I think this looks like a beautiful diamond that is eye clean enough for me. I do have very good close up vision, and I have an SI1 diamond (over 2 carats) that I can see the inclusions slightly. But no one else notices them, and that’s all I care about. You will have to determine your own level of comfort with inclusions. Whiteflash will gladly send you the stone, so you can see for yourself if it’s eye clean enough for you.

$23,000k tops; I was looking around 2ct (+/-) when I happened on this one, which is 2.4ct ACA H-SI1.

I can return her within 30 days for a refund or upgrade if I’m not thrilled.

the stone that I'm getting is also a SI1 and over 2 cts. While it may be a bit noticeable to her, it won't be noticeable to others, and I think that's whats important to her. So find what is important to you. Is it something for you to show or is it something for you to admire? If it's the former, people are not going to stare and inspect your diamond, it'll usually be a quick glimpse. If it's the latter, if you're ok with the inclusions (not noticing it really), then get it if the price is right.

Well, it looks like I am taking this one for a test run. After more e-mails and a phone conversation with the gemologist at WF, I am fairly confident that this is a gem I want to see on my finger. Hopefully my untrained eye works to my benefit and I am just overwhelmed by the beauty rather than any imperfections. If not, well.... we will meet back here in a few weeks and start all over again. :lol-2:
