Hi everyone! :wavey:

I would love some opinions on these CADs -- to give some context, I have an antique cushion that I would like set in a simple, delicate, low solitaire. The diamonds on the basket was a last minute idea and I've gone back and forth since. Should I remove them to keep it simple? Or does it add just enough fun-ness from the side?

Anything I should do to edit these? I'm a total novice and have really appreciated this community for all the great inspiration and information.

Thanks!!

I love it! I really like the pave around the head, but I would have it lowered several mm. How high is it right now?

I also want to point out that this style has a donut and with the bowed out struts, you will not be able to wear a flush fit band -- if that's important to you.

X2 on the height. I would also want it lowered.

liaerfbv & OECsareforlovers --

This is what they said about the height -- what do you think???

The height of the center from the table to the bottom of the shank which touches the finger is at approx. 6.7-mm which is my opinion is a perfect height

Do you know how deep your stone is in mm? I looks high to me bc there is a ton of space between the culet (which we cant see) and the bottom of the shank, but maybe the CAD is just representing the diamond in an odd way and the gap is not really that large????

hi OECsareforLovers --

My stone is about 4.07mm -- so that would be about 2.6mm between the cutlet and the bottom of the shank? Does that sound like too much space? He reassured me on the phone that this was quite low and appropriate..

Thanks for your help!!

I like very low set stones and I do not like an air gap at all under the culet if the gallery is not enclosed. So for me, I would still bump it down 1mm, but that may be too low for you. Personal preference.

I personally like my cutlet to rest just above the donut. I think this will look bizarre it if is 2.6mm above.

I like the diamonds on the basket and would keep it.

And this is also just personal preference but I would taper the shank in slightly where it comes up to meet the basket. I think it just gives the ring a bit more of a sleek look.

Thanks so much for your input -- so should I ask to have it lowered by 1mm? Or 1.5mm?

Also, interesting about tapering the shank! I'll bring that up to.

Thanks again!!

I would keep the tiny pave stones - I have something similar and I really enjoy looking at the sideview of my ring.

I would if I were you. I would give the specific instructions that the "cutlet should rest just above the donut" (or something like that). You said in your OP that you wanted a low setting, it may be worth reiterating that to the vendor.

Great idea on the taper. It's going to be beautiful!!!
