I''m thinking of getting this, lot the fires in the stone, especially the pinks. Should I or just keep looking?

I think it''s beautiful! Do you love it? Or do you have reservations?

I think it''s beautiful I am looking for an opal ring too. Seems like you have some reservations about it??

What are the best sties for opal rings?

Geez, Gecko... I really love it. To be honest, what I want from fellow PSer''s is to talk me out of this by giving me the cons more than the pro''s, if that''s possible! I need to save my $$ for my aqua setting.

So off to work I go!

Kaliegh, only reservation is that I need to spend the money on a aqua setting.

Here is another one, accented with diamonds.

Oh, wow! That second opal is gorgeous to me!

I love this one, also! OMG!!!

OMG, Lauren... I have to keep focused on the aqua!

I need to go to work. See you all tonight!

Focus, focus, focus!!!!!!!

But, stop and smell the roses once in a while!

If you want a con about a second one - setting isn''t exactly nicely done if you ask me (diamonds are not much too). It is a nice stone though, but the craftsmanship on the first one looks better (but colors are more vibrant on the second).

I LOVE opals so I don''t think I have any cons to offer! If you''re trying to concentrate on the aqua, that opal will either still be there when you''re ready for it, or another will come along that you love!

LOL - Okay, reasons not to get it:

1. You have that gorgeous aqua to set.
2. You have that gorgeous aqua to set.
3. You have that gorgeous aqua to set.
4. You''re saving money to set that gorgeous aqua.

Seriously though - if your heart''s desire is to get that aqua in a setting - avoid the opals.

Well, I dunno - I''m more partial to the darker blue "fire" opals myself - I just think they have more personality...but that milky one is awfully pretty...

haha yes!

It''s pretty, but you must focus Mochi!!

Oh I Love that second stone [not the setting so much] but you have an aqua to set young lady!!!!

I''m going to be no help at all because I love Opals - I find them truly fascinating.

No.1 has purple and pink fire which you don''t often see so lovely.
No.2 has tons of red (which in Opal world is the best colour)
No.3 is a jelly/crystal/water opal which is my personal favourite but it doesn''t necessarily look good in all lights.

Are they all natural opals or are they doublets or triplets? If doublets or triplets I would give them a miss. If they''re all Opal then I think they''re scrumptious and need a good home!

See? Told you I wasn''t going to be much help!

Mochi, I love all 3 of them. I am no help whatsoever

sorry Mochi! I love the fire in the second one - you should get it!

I cannot think of any cons (other than you needing to save for your aqua setting) because I think it is gorgeous!

LD brought up an excellent point. If they are doublets or triplets, I''d pass on them. If they are all opal, then I''d consider them if the price is right.

Here''s another con; maintenance of opals! Don''t store them under extreme temperatures or dry them out.

OK LADIES!!! I''m going to put a hold on the opal. I will have to put this on the list for 2009.

This is the site that has all these wonderful opals, different size, shape and colors. I stumbled on it last night when I was just looking around. It seems to work like ebay but it''s only for opals.

ENJOY!!

I believe #2 is solid opal. I have a question about #1 to the seller regarding if it''s solid or not.

This one is absolutely gorgeous! Solid black opal
