My boyfriend and I have been looking for the right diamond for a few months now. We have delayed buying anything because he is up for a promotion at work that may mean a huge pay increase. We may reassess out budget at that time.

I have written before that I was looking for a square shaped stone. Recently I was looking on eBay and I found a listing for an old mine cut diamond. It is listed at .9 credit, j-k color, and si1 clarity. There is really no other information and the photos are kinda blury. Would anyone consider buying a stone like that?

That's awesome that you get to work out a new budget! However, it's kinda like you asking... I want to buy a car. It has a body and four wheels. Is it a good buy? I think the old cut experts here will need to see the listing in order to somewhat assess it...

It's impossible to judge an old cut based solely on specs. Photos are critical, as some old cuts are pleasing to the eye and some are just wonky. Can you ask for better photos? What's the return policy?

The listing doesn't say anything about returns. I messaged the seller to see of she had dimensions and to find out more about the clarity. It is listed at a very reasonable price which is the only reason I am even considering it. My boyfriend and I agreed to wait. His company is very slow moving and it may be another month before he hears. I am feeling a little impatient, Haha. I see all these beautiful rings on here every day and I want one!

I will see if I cam post the pictures tomorrow. I am on my phone right now and I can't seem to do it.
