Hello All...
Today was the day I went to see Gary and Mark at ERD. I have to say it was one the most fun things I''ve done in a looong time. And it was a moment I''ve been waiting for since I was a wee one!
Winnie,
I think Mark is as big a fan of your''s as you are of him! (And who knew "Winnie" wasn''t your real name??)
MMM,
Mark says you and I have similar "jolly laughs". I was giddy from diamonds, I have to admit.
So here''s the story of my appointment. Many weeks ago I decided that my rock was going to be a cushion cut. I was one determined woman. No simple, everyone-has-one, round brilliant for me! Nooooo, I was gonna do something rebellious and go for a bit of a rectangle on my finger. (All the while the dear BF kept gently telling me "I like the round..it''s classic").
One of my objectives today was to compare RB to cushion. So Gary had 3 RB''s ready and waiting for me, as well as 2 cushions he picked out.
The RB''s came first. Of course, the largest one caught my eye first (0.85ct). After comparing the three stones, I decided this was my favorite. Bigger, whiter, and beautiful.
Then came the cushions...And, well, I don''t think it took me 3 minutes to rule them out! Not that they weren''t beautiful (they sure were!) but when I put them up next to the RB, there was NO comparison! The RB looks WAY bigger, brighter, whiter and just downright "blingy-er"!
That''s when I knew. I had found "IT". I was so nervous, and excited that all the months of reading this site, trying to absorb knowledge abut the numbers, percentages, tables, culets, facets, symmetry, etc., went right out the door! I mean, at that moment, I was just a girl, looking a diamond, and loving it madly.
So, since this IS Pricescope after all, here are the stats:
GIA CERT
Measurements: 6.10 - 6.13 x 3.73 mm
Carat Weight: 0.85
Color Grade: G
Clarity Grade: SI2 (totally eye-clean)
Cut Grade: Very Good
Depth: 61.0 %
Table: 58 %
Crown Angle: 35°
Crown Height: 15 %
Pavilion Angle: 40.8°
Pavilion Depth: 43 %
Star length: 50 %
Lower Half: 80 %
Girdle: Thin to Medium, Faceted
Culet: None
Polish: Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Fluorescence: None
And can I just say that Gary and Mark are SOOO NICE? They made me feel as welcome and comfortable as if I were buying a 5 carat stone. They certainly won''t be retiring on my purchase, but still took an enormous amount of time with me, explained everything and were just so kind and great. Thank you Gary and Mark!
Pictures come soon I hope. Gary said he''d email me one. Can''t wait!
Sorry for the long post...Thanks for listening!!!!!
