I had a mini-heart attack last night after realizing that the new stone I bought from WF (not here yet) is considerable bigger than the one it will be replacing.

new stone = 6.64 x 6.65 x 4.08 (RB)

old stone = 6.18 x 5.58 x 3.37 (cushion)

Will the setter be able to ''play'' with the prong configuration to get this new stone to sit with it''s girdle slightly above the halo?

I personally like the stone to be sitting up a little higher, and i like the look of the stone overlapping the halo *a bit*

bottom line. Is this stone too big for the setting?

thanks for your opinions!

PS. all 3 pics are of the setting with the (soon to be) old cushion.

I want to know if prongs can be re-made to accomodate the new, larger RB stone.

thanks again. All opinions welcome. :)

This is something only a jeweler can answer in person with the stone to see if it will fit.

Yes, you will need to ask a jeweler. Whether it can be done or not, I am not sure I would like the look of a bigger diamond in that setting. Your old diamond already overlaps. The other may look like it is in a setting that is too small for it, assuming it can be done.
