I am looking for some opinions, or even better pictures, of the difference between compass set (north/east/south/west) RB diamonds and 4 claw 'square' set RB.

Basically do you think the compass set makes the stone look a little larger than the square set?

I love Compass set 4 prong settings. I don't know if it makes the stone look bigger. But it does look rounder in my observation. My best friend has her prongs like this and it looks great.

How big is the stone?

I especially like compass set solitaires... not if the ring will have (sizable) sidestones though, then the E/W prongs get in the way of nicely nestled sides.

It would be a 0.60 point diamond solitaire with no side stones. Like the second picture kindly posted for me by previous poster.

I posted some photos of my compass set 0.63 ct here.

The diamond and the head are from Good Old Gold. I specified the setting this way, because this is my original e-ring setting and that is how the first diamond was set. I like the look, probably because it is a bit different than most.
