DH & I are thinking that we may get a Will as a joint gift to ourselves for Christmas. He currently has an Xbox 360 and I have a DS. I don''t like playing his Xbox and he doesn''t play the DS. We are looking for a sytem that is fun and that we would like to play together. We aren''t huge on how great the graphics are so that doesn''t matter to much. I just want to see how others feel before we spend the $. After the accessories and games, it really adds up!

Should we go for the Wii? Does it live up to the hype? If you have one, are you glad you got it and play it all the time or do you regret it and not really play it anymore?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond!

We have a Wii. DH and I have so much fun playing it, but we don''t play it all the time. We are some lazy people. We have the Wii Fit for a while now. We got it right after it was out, but we still hasn''t opened the box yet.

I bought the Wii for my hubby last Christmas.
It is a lot of fun, but I find that we do not touch it very often, maybe once a month, but I think that is because we are not that into video games in general and we are lazy

I dont regret buying it because it is a lot of fun when we play it. I asked for the Wii Fit for Christmas this year, so I hope that I can start using the Wii more!

J and I got our Wii last week, a joint Christmas (and anniversary) present to ourselves too. It''s lots of fun--we don''t have many games for it yet, but since Christmas is coming, we''re hoping for one or two from friends and family.

I haven''t been into video games since I was in grade school...and when I was younger I was practically addicted to Super Nintendo! We have a PS3 and I don''t go near it. I''ve played the Wii twice and I

it! I don''t hesitate to play it a friend''s houses...I just don''t play video games enough to want one of my own. We are getting one for my parents for xmas because I think my mom thinks it will replace a gym membership

Thanks lovegem, poshpepper, gwendolyn & sammyj!

I know that we won''t play it "all the time". DH loves his Xbox & plays almost everyday (usually before I get home, when I''m doing homework or alseep).

Any game recommendations? I like role playing type games (ie. sims) and I did play the Wii sports games once and they were fun.

D and I are getting each other the Wii for christams. I absolutely adore playing it at our friend''s house and I can''t wait to get ours. We''re very competitive though so we''ll probably kill each other!!

We have a Wii and lovelovelove it! We bought the newest Guitar Hero (the one with the microphone and drums) and we take it to parties and get-togethers all the time. It''s so much fun!

Get the Wii!!!

BF and I went to his family''s house for Thanksgiving, where they have a Wii. We decided that if we liked it, he''d get it for me as my Christmas gift - well, we LOVED it. Seriously, the games are so fun, and we got the Fit too - which might actually be really good for our health.

We found a bundle on eBay that was $525 for the Wii, a remote, nunchuk, the Fit, the games that come with the Fit, the Wii sports games, Mario Kart and two wheels - and I qualified for the Microsoft Live cashback of $176, making it a much better deal. We just bought an extra nunchuk and remote too (oh I ordered this about 5 days ago and got it yesterday).

Definitely get the Wii!

Get the Wii already!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, it''s not going to be a "life-changing" piece of equipment, and you won''t use it everyday once the novelty wears off, but it''s sooo much fun and worth the

IMO! It''s the cheapest of the 3 gaming systems and way more fun for people aren''t serious die-hard gamers. We have Mario Kart, Wii Fit, Wii Sports and I would recommend them all for fun couples games. It''s fun playing DH in tennis and winning (occasionally) when I have no prayer at beating him in real tennis ever!

FI and I are both serious gamers, and we play our Wii like crazy. We have friends over a lot, and we always gravitate towards it. I think that it is particularly suited for entertaining and multi-player games. Overall, it is way more entertaining than movies or TV, you just have to change your habits a bit to incorporate it.

I highly suggest Mario Party and Mario Kart, if you get one.

I think it might depend on why you don''t like the Xbox. Is it the controller? Choice of games?

Just saw this. If you like Sims, you should check out Animal Crossing City Folk. It is awesome (but also crazily addicting)!

Wii is awesome!!!! There are so many fun games (I love anything Mario, myself...) It''s fun, and it''s cool because it''s something different, with the 2-piece controller. I HIGHLY recommend it!!!

Thanks for your input Bee! We are competitive too so it should be fun!

Monkeypie -- I''ve heard it''s a blast at parties/groups. Looking forward to that!

BrownEyedGirl -- Thanks for the heads up about the great deal you found on Ebay. I''m gonna check into that.

Mia1181 -- You described me perfectly. I''m not a die hard gamer and just looking for something fun to play.

Katamari -- I love Mario too!

Thanks for the Animal Crossing recommendations! I will look into that.

pjean -- I don''t care for the Xbox mostly because of the controller and because the games DH plays on it. Mostly Madden & NBA games & other "serious" sports games. Not my style.

Tuckins -- Thanks for your opinion!

We have decided we are getting it for sure. I''m going to do some comparative pricing in stores vs online this weekend. Can''t wait!

I am a HUGE Wii fan! I have had mine for about a year and a half now and it is by far the most played system in our house. We play Mario Party at least once a week together and it''s so incredibly fun! I also love the Wii Fit as a suplement to going to the gym.

We have actually had Wii bowling tournaments with friends. Which brings me to what I love most about the Wii - you can be VERY social while playing games. You can involve friends, compete against people in games with Wi-Fi capability and now you can even talk to people with Wii Speak!

It does seem that more and more games are being redesigned and released for the Wii - like Resident Evil 4 - so even the serious gamer in your life can get his/her game on! I''ve played RE4 on almost every platform and found that once I got past the learning curve of the Wii controlers that it was by far the BEST controller set up EVER!
