Christmas was yesterday , so hubby better ante up!

The "beauties" ended up being duds. I ordered amethyst studs from BN and they do not match. The tables on them are visably different sizes and the stones lack any life, at all. They are going back as soon as I get my but organized (aka wait till after christmas to mail them back). Am going to buy some on etsy in January.

Well, that stinks! I've returned so many colored stones over the years, it's ridiculous. They are the devil to photograph, so I have some sympathy for the gem dealers, but still . . .

I have been so sick! DD brought home a gigantic cold with fatique, coughing, headaches, the whole nine yards. DH got pneumonia, I have an infection, we haven't left the house in over a week.

I am mostly vertical today, and I may finally be getting over it. DH is still pretty pitiful, DD is fine. I remember when I was young . . .

Interestingly, on Christmas morning, DD went right to my ring (among all the gift bags) and gave it to me first. And she didn't wrap it! She has inherited my finding abilities, because they certainly haven't been working for me!

I FINALLY managed to get a decent shot of the purple color! Turns out, it works best in the bathroom, which still has all incandescent bulbs (yes, I am hoarding a bunch before they become illegal in 2013).

IDJ really did a fantastic job on the diamonds, they sparkle like mad!

Oh iLander... It's just pure pure heaven!!! I hope you are feeling better today! A bunch of people on my end also had a really bad flu during the whole holiday! Oh Ilander!! What a gorgeous, gorgeous ring!! You must be on cloud nine! I'm so sorry I completely forgot about this thread, not here all that often and don't know my way around very well I owe you a pic of my ring too, (the rubies and the engraved platinum band are lovely). I promise get a pic up as soon as I can get the hubs to take one and post it.

Yummy! I love round colored stones. Someday before I die I'm going to get myself a nice sapphire. But I can't decide on what shade. I do like that purple shade, surprisingly.
