I was one a men''s forum. It was both humbling and enlightening. The guys came off very misogynistic at first, and I spent my time attacking their comments. Eventually, I began to understand their lingo and perspective, and I was able to be more selective in my commentary. Eventually, I outgrew the forum... so I now I am here.

Yes - the forums I am on are mostly men. They include a deals forum, cell phone, and car forum. I am also on a dog forum which is mostly women! Lots of fights on there and people getting really emotional. I can''t stay on that forum for extended time - always have to take a break from it.

I feel confident that the women here are not representative of "women" if you were to take a random survey of the population.

I find that as a woman I do not relate well to most other women, they are far too.......(annoying/girly/unintelligent/helpless)...too something (

) and I just cannot relate to them.

But when I found PS, I felt at home. The ladies here are wonderful and are more than the sum of their parts. I have seem many women use their gender as a limiting factor IRL, I doubt that would happen to the women here. They are confident, empowered, intelligent and sensible (etc) and make me proud to be a woman.

That is why I think men like it here. We are great women, who would not want to be around us

I belong to a sportscar forum, which is dominated by men. I can't count number the times I've been referred to as dude or man, as in "hey, man"

. It can be a challenge. Some of the language and avitars are...well...not respectful of women, KWIM. Nonetheless, it's a great place to talk about our beloved roadsters
