Frankly bowling does not interest me, super or not.

I say, if you like it go play it.

Sitting on your butt, watching sports and feeling the feelings of the players strike me as an oxymoron.

We'll have it on, because DH will watch it, but I honestly don't pay attention and will probably be on PS or reading a book most of the time. Does that count?

Usually we go to a SB party (DH is sick this year so we're not going) where I just chat with the other people who don't really care about watching.

I'm from Pittsburgh, so I'll admit to watching when the Steelers play because I feel the peer pressure of a city I no longer live in

eta: I do enjoy watching some sports live (mostly hockey or basketball) but I just cannot focus on tv sports - it's so boring to me.

Some of us cannot play sports because of handicaps.

I will not be watching, but I am sure it will be on.

To me the most absurd thing is going to see it. I mean why would you pay all that money, freeze your butt off, and be looking at the wrong end of the field when something big happens.

No thank you.

As mentioned in another thread, we watch the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet...hilarious puppy action!

The only time I saw even a minute of the Super Bowl was the year the Seahawks played. I watched for about 20 minutes - 10 of which were commercials - and then turned it off. I know the commercials are supposed to be a big draw, but I just couldn''t stand sitting there watching commercials, and the game itself wasn''t that interesting. And all of this is kind of odd because I used to watch both college and pro football a lot when I was younger, but now have no interest whatsoever. Neither does DH who didn''t even care when the Seahawks played. Spectator sports are just not his thing.

absolutely not watching it...... and could care less who is playing and/or who wins. completely off my radar.

mz

ps and hubby could also care less....probably even less than i do!

Me! I live close to Miami and would like to go into hiding. The partying began on Wednesday.

I was kind of thinking of washing my hair instead, but part of me is attracted to the idea of mindlessly eating food for 4 hours...

Not interested so I''m making chilli, reading, and going to work out.

No, I don't consider watching a sport I enjoy an oxymoron.

My husband and I really enjoy the Superbowl. My Pats aren't playing this year but it's still fun.

ETA: Why go to a museum when you could stay home and paint your own artwork

What about viewers who are women?

Women can still play! There are always intramural teams and things that anyone can do. DH has a guy on his intramural basketball team who is probably 50 years old - he still puts away the 3 point shots like you wouldn't believe

eta: Not that I'm necessarily agreeing with Kenny - I hate playing sports and am extremely bad at them

My husband will be watching. I am half in half out. I do want the Saints to Win!!!! And want to see the commercials. Oh and half time for sure. I don''t know who''s performing?? See like I said half in half out, LOL!!!

I''ve yet to see an intramural team that pays equal wages between genders. Give me $20 mill and I''ll go out and risk getting my head hit with 90 mile-an-hour fast ball. (oh, I guess I can play tennis for my millions. What else is there where women actually are PAID like men?)

We''re not sports people in general, so neither DH nor I are watching.

Not Watching!

We''re not watching it. I don''t really care about it and neither does my husband, since the Patriots aren''t in it. That''s the only time he''s interested in the Super Bowl (he doesn''t really follow football enough to care much about other teams).

Not me! I''m at work
14.gif

I''m playing on the laptop next to my hubby who IS watching. So I''ll catch the highlights, but don''t really care

I''m at work, preparing for hearings and trial this week. Yuck. I''m not too bothered that I''m not watching, though. I''m not much of a football fan, and I don''t have any sort of interest in either of the teams this year.

As far as watching vs. playing, I was a gymnast for years and years, but when I was 17, I had a devastating knee injury. While I can still participate in other, less demanding sports, there was sadly no returning to gymnastics for me. I watch it now (live or on TV) because I love the sport and really wish I could still do it. Watching it, even on TV, makes me feel a little bit like maybe I''m doing it again. For some of us, Kenny, there is no "going out and playing it."

I don''t think that watching sports is an oxymoron (a rhetorical figure wherein incongruous or contradictory terms are combined, e.g. "a deafening silence"). Watching someone else partake in an activity or game is not contradictory or incongruous at all; people all over the world do it every day.

We are not watching, but I suggested DVRing the game to DH so we could fast forward the game and watch the commercials....

Ditto for me !

The Who is performing!

I''m not a big sports fan, but dh is, so I guess I''ll hang out and watch (and eat ice cream!)

I could care less about football, but I might watch if the Panthers were ever playing. My hubby always watches it. I did watch Carrie Underwood sing the national anthem because I like her, and I sometimes watch the half-time show. I''ll probably watch The Who.

+1 on both counts. I couldn''t care less and neither could DH. We probably wouldn''t have even known it was on if someone hadn''t told us!

Stupor...super....bowl? What is this S(t)upor Bowl of which you speak...?

Hubs and I both think football is boooooring.
