Borrowed my gfs ER today to do some "tests"

It's a true 60/60 stone, 1.07 ct with medium blue Fluor. She loves it

Side note, what do you guys think of the setting? Sorry for the poor pics. Hope you enjoy.

Which setting is that? I'm not loving the prongs.

I'm happy you love the stone!

Couldn't even tell you the name. She picked it out and specifically asked for the prong to be flatter. What don't you like about the prongs?

I'm not a fan of big prongs. So my opinion doesn't count. If she picked it, and she loves it, then that's what matters!

totally... Prongs can shaved too without much hassle I think? The jeweler I worked with will do it free, if she wants.

no one that knows what they are talking about.
They do tend towards brightness over fire across a wide range of lighting compared to near tolk.

pic 2 is table glare not fire.

Ya i realize that. I only took two pictures, plus it's with my phone so it's tough. I was just referencing the fact people preach about tolk cut and small tables equal great fire. Wasn't trying to insinuate that's a popular belief re; 60/60's on this forum

Hi OP, I think 60/60 are great options, especially for those that don't necessarily want an ideal cut stone but do want a sparkly, spready stone. They do have fire, just maybe a little less than the balance of brilliance and fire from a Tolk cut. Around my neck of the woods, Ideal cuts are not the norm and the color flashes off my stones makes people think that they are not real diamonds, lol.

Congrats on the stone, Stive -- I'm glad she loves it! =) If she picked the setting and loves it, then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, IMHO. ;)) I'm with you on the 60/60 stones... I have one and love it -- lots of white light and sparkle!

Thanks! To be honest. Looking at it top down the prongs don't look intrusive at all. Maybe the zoom hair does t do it justice?

I'm sure the super close zoomed in view doesn't help the cause... LOL

Nothing wrong with a well cut 60/60 stone with good crown height. I had my wife's (flat top) 1.47ct 60/60 stone recut into a near Tolk specs b/c it had no crown height.
