You guys are so sweet to wonder about me!

I''m not sure what to say!

I can''t tell you my age, because it''s a HUGE secret. Not even my DF knows - isn''t that crazy?? He won''t tell me his age either! Ha-ha! I guess we will both find out on our wedding day. I''m more than 25 (although I''d love to look 25!) and less than 40 (I will be in denial for the rest of my life when I hit 40!) - nuff said!

We were engaged in February and we''re getting married in July. (No I''m not pregnant! Ha-ha!) Small destination wedding, parents only.

I''ve loved jewelry my whole life, but started "investing" about 10 years ago.

In my free time, I love to sail and to travel.

You''re sweet! I don''t know what else to say about myself. It''s all so boring....

I can tell you the first expensive thing I bought for myself was an 18K YG Italian-designed necklace and bracelet set. I bought it for some reason - maybe it was a promotion? I wear the set frequently and get a ton of compliments. The designer is Moda Italia.

The first gemstone I bought for myself was a tourmaline. I bought it from a gem dealer in St. Thomas - I used to live in the Caribbean. Moved there for the heck of it. I love to scuba dive, play tennis, play golf, also - all warm weather activities, so the Caribbean was perfect for me, until I started to miss things like drama and ballet.

The way I''ve always looked at it is - you have to treat yourself well because if you don''t, no one else will either!
2.gif

In general, I try to take the high road and focus on the finer things in life - whether those things are material or a way of behaving or a way of treating people. I try not to get bogged down in ugly details - who said what about whom, who''s at fault, etc. Life is way too short and I''m trying to enjoy every minute as best I can!

And "la dolce vita" has put a few extra pounds around my middle that I am desperately trying to lose before July!

I''ve been putting off dress-shopping because I''m frightened of the whole dressing room scene!

Starry, I try so hard to have your view, and succeed most of the time, but do have those moments of being less than charitable...you are a lovely person and a girl after my own heart...I treat myself quite well, and often, because life is short and though hubby is wonderful and generous, there are limits there too, and I like to indulge myself...you go, girl!

You''re so active that I don''t believe you!

Thanks for the compliments, DF! You are such a supportive and dignified PS'er! I know what you are saying - sometimes it's not easy. I have those moments too. I try to keep myself disciplined though and not allow myself to digress into ugliness. It's hard work, but I try to keep an open mind and think happy thoughts!

All except those few pounds around the middle - ugh! Harriet, it's true!

I''ll see for myself when you take me sailing!

Hopefully the pounds will be gone by the time you learn to swim!
2.gif

My pounds will enable me to float, as my dad claims.

I try to be zen too, but some people really try my patience and I am ashamed to say so but I do get cranky about it. Mother in law is a HUGE nerve frayer, I used to suck it up but cannot any longer. I am more apt now to tell her to knock it off...tired of taking it and pretending nothing is wrong.

I am getting this new machine for the gym the Cybex total body arc trainer. Really helps with fat burner (so would not eating!!). I am anxious to try it out. I will let you know what I think, most gyms have them now.

I know you have excellent taste in jewelery. That''s for sure. But who are you?? What makes you sing, etc... Inquiring minds want to know.

A good Donna Summer song! I might even start dancing too!

Kidding - thanks for the compliment! What makes me sing? Hmmm. That''s a tough question. Career-wise, I still haven''t figured that out! Generally, the small things in life make me happy - having a clean house, not having to wait in line, seeing people smiling and saying hello, stuff like that. I appreciate simplicity and order. I tend toward perfectionism, but I''m trying to get over that!

I agree; seeing happy people is so contagious and you can't help but be happy. I love that Starryeyed; very lovely

I am glad you said that; honestly, that is what life really is about, simple pleasures.

Simple pleasures like small sparkly stones....

I love your attitude. I love to see people smile, and say hello. It''s a small thing, but makes my day.

Dear Starryeyed,
I cant think of another way to contact you so I hope that you get this message in due time. I am about to give confirmation to my boyfriend that I want to move to the next step. Today is 12/06/07 and I know that he is going to propose before Dec 31,2007 which doesnt leave a lot of time to get a ring. AH! I have searched this site to try and find out details of the ring that I have fallen in love with and would like to see it on my finger for the rest of my life. The problem is that I have no idea where or how to get it?! I dont think ordering online is going to be an option due to time constraints. I live in Atlanta and he lives in Chicago. We will be in Florida for the holidays so those are the options that I have. Can you help me find a ring like yours? I like the Asscher cut with a simple thin platinum band. I am even flexible with the carat size as long as it looks identical to yours and its a good diamond and price. PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME?! I dont want to be stuck with something that I dont really love and I know that my boyfriend will rush to find something.

Yes, please do. Starry doesn''t really post here anymore. You''ll get more help in RT.

Hello HuneyB. Sorry to be MIA!

Glad you like my asscher ring. If you are going to be in FL, you may try "Provident Jewelers" in Palm Beach. They have a pretty impressive selection of diamond rings. And if you are price-savvy, they will totally deal. You have to be careful though - some diamonds aren''t as clean, so bring your loupe!

Funny that I should see this post - my asscher has sat in the box virtually unworn for months. I haven''t been able to tell my husband about it. Even though I bought it with my own money, I think it would somehow hurt his feelings that I have another diamond ring. We are undergoing renovations and moving to a new house, which is why I haven''t been around. So with huge house expenditures, I''m having an even harder time telling him. Such a quandary!

Would you like me to tell him?? Seriously, that is criminal to have that ring sitting in a box miss. Please, find a way to tell him.

And again, good to see you back!

Hi Ellen!
35.gif
Thanks!

Between the new house, renovations, my mother''s heart surgery, and concerned visiting relatives, I''ve had no free time. Sorry I''ve been MIA - I know I missed a lot.

I may try to tell my DH when all of our cash isn''t going into renovations. I think he might take it better when we are more liquid!

Starry, I am so happy your mom is okay; I will keep you all in my thoughts. You are such a sweet daughter! Thanks for the sweet birthday wishes; you are such a dear!!! We all missed you tons!! How exciting that you are doing home renovations; it is worth it when it is over but oh so stressful when you are in the thick of it. Hang in there sweetie!!!

Starry, my wishes for your mom''s speedy recovery.

Thanks Skippy and Harriet! We are several months out from Mom''s surgery and she is doing well. Sometimes she has little anxiety attacks, but apparently that''s normal. We will see her for Christmas.

Skippy, you are so right about home renovations. The house is so torn apart that I don''t even have a place for a Christmas tree! I hope it''s worth it.

I did manage to get a few baubles lately....
