Okay, per my fellow LIW's request, here is my Who's Who thread!
Short Version:
I am 22 years old, living with one soon-to-be-fiance and one Golden Retriever, in Mesa, Arizona. I'm starting college this summer and I expect to get engaged sometime within the next nine months. We want to move to Louisville, Kentucky (his hometown) in the next 2-5 years, depending on how school works out.
Long Version:
The ugly and difficult breakup with my high school sweetheart prompted me to move away from "home" (Salt Lake City, Utah) as soon as I was done with massage therapy school. So I came to Phoenix with my best friend because she had family here and it met my basic requirements (i.e., my ex didn't live there). So I moved New Year's Eve, 2002, and rang in 2003 in my new state, full of hope.
About a year after the breakup I decided I was ready to date again. I was working three jobs at the time, was 20 years old and really had no means to meet people, so in August 2003 I put up a personals ad online. Kyle was one of the first to respond and I met him for coffee at a Starbucks after about a week of chatting via email and telephone. We really hit it off and ended up talking for seven hours over our lattes.
My best friend and I had a major falling out over a decision she made, I was forced to move (#1) the week after I met Kyle and through some quirk of fate, ended up moving about ten minutes away from him (#2). But despite my growing affection for him, I wanted to make sure I was making a careful decision and slowly eliminated the guys I'd met via the internet... Kyle's integrity and amazing sense of humor finally convinced me he was the one for me and we decided to be exclusive in November 2003.
I had some trouble finding a place to live (#3) and eventually signed my own lease (#4) where I'm living now. At the same time, I came to the realization that massage therapy really wasn't the right field for me, and after a bout with retail and working as an administrative assistant for a couple Realtors, I have just now accepted a position in the Admissions department of the University of Phoenix, which I will start soon! This is most exciting because it offers me the ability to attend school at no cost, and I believe I am finally ready to go to college and get a real degree. I am seriously considering going into marriage and family therapy.
Kyle moved in with me September 2004 and we are hoping to marry "soon".
Late 2006, maybe 2007, I think. We want 2 kids, 1 more dog and plenty of land! We visited his family last summer and I just fell in love with the Ohio Valley... and he misses home, so it works out perfectly.
Well, that's my story of the past few years, it may be humble but it's honest!!
