who can recut my old diamond 1.23 carat /63%table

i would like to have my old diamond recut and make it into a pendant.
it''s not a GIA so i don''t want to spend too much money on it.
I think the replacement value of something like that is around $5000.

i think there''s a fee for "improving" the cut of the diamond
and a fee ( almost double) to recut it into an AGS0 type of grade.

what would you do for a non GIA diamond. i am not even sure what color it is

I guess the fee depends on how well cut you want the final result to be. If the cut isn''t all that bad, why not just leave it as is and set it into a pendant? Is the stone EGL, IGI or something else? Do you have any other cut information? It sounds as though you''ve already asked around about recutting fees.

What do you mean by "old"? Are you talking about an antique/vintage stone, or just an older diamond you''ve had? If it''s the former - antique/vintage - Please dont re cut it! Old stones have their own personality and are becoming scarcer and scarcer...

I think from following Wawa's posts, it is the old diamond SG, and not a vintage cut.
