Members on watch forums have had been arguing for many years about who belongs in the "holy trinity" of watches, so IYO opinion who belongs in the "holy trinity" of the jewelry world?... Harry Winston, Cartier and Tiff & Co.?

Cartier, Bulgari and Van Cleef & Arpels without a doubt are my holy trinity.

Not exactly holy... but since discovering PS, Victor Canera, Leon Mege and Steven Kirsch are my personal top 3 contenders. But I also see a lot of beautiful jewelry by other talented vendors here.

Acinom, I think the question was geared towards all jewelry houses, not PS vendors. The holy trinity is refereed to as those jewelry houses who pretty much reach almost unattainable standards. Of course a PS vendor can fall into holy trinity but I just wanted to clarify.

Cartier, Bulgari, Tiffany. Quintessential and iconic jewelry for their respective countries.

I don't know about top 3 but the following are tops to me: Buccellati, Van Cleef and Arpels, Harry Winston, Cartier, Graff, Boucheron.

Agree with this!

Harry Winston, Graff and Van Cleef. Bulgari and Cartier tied for 4th place.

In watch language they would be referred to as "independents".

:naughty: Ah! And those independents make the most special and exclusive watches don't they :naughty:

JAR, Graff and Winston. Maybe a runner up with VCA.

Dang I completely forgot about JAR!

I'm changing my answer to Cartier, Bulgari and JAR :halo:

JAR seems like a different category for me. I get it, but when I see "JAR" along with these bigger design houses, I just think, "one of these things is not like the other."

Yea no one really can touch JAR, frankly. That's THE THE of design houses.

Van Cleef, Cartier, Graff, Harry Winston, Tiffany. Not sure you can limit it to 3.

I'm like a multi-cultural, pan-religious ecumenicist. So I guess it would depend if we were talking catholic tastes, or something a little more unusual, like triune Hecate.

If we were talking Art Deco houses, it would be Theodore Dreicer, Black Starr Frost, & Cartier.

If it were Art Nouveau, Lalique, Gaillard, & Fouquet

If it were Victorian, Castellani, Liberty & Co, & Falize

If it were the Renaissance, Cellini, Mellerio ... and then I'd run out of names, because I don't know that period as well.

But as for the "Holy Trinity" today in terms of being the biggest/most influential/most prestigious? I'd say Cartier, Graff, & Harry Winston. (But I'd still prefer to go to Fred Leighton or Stephen Russell.)
