I was surfing around today and came across this:

That looks pretty close to the real thing?? The lines are very fluid and beautiful in the close up pictures. Much better than WF's cheaper Tiffany-style ones.

Has anyone seen it in person, Lesley or Denise..can you chime in? Very curious since people are always asking about replicas and so far the NiceIce and SC were the only ones that look very close.

Edited to add that the SC setting looks very similar when you compare the two but the WF one appears to have slightly refined prongs so it shows less on the stone.

Wasn't that the 4ct ring that WF did for someone here on PS? I think it's in the SMtR folder.

maybe, but i had no idea they had made it a new permanent setting they were selling.

Yeah... look... top of page 15 in the ring folder!

ahh Solange's ring...yes! sometimes i wonder if ANY setting just looks better with a large stone in it. Because I see the SC Tiffany setting pictures with a .50c stone in it and it just looks tiny and odd.

Oh wow, I like!

I've always like the Tiffany setting. Very simple and elegant. I wonder what the with of the ring is?

Six prongs for a .5 stone is just too much metal & is overbearing! I love the Tiffany setting but wouldn't consider it for anything under one carat.

Hmmm....well that's not entirely true. I have a half carat Tiffany & Co classic setting ring and you barely notice the prongs for the way that Tiffany & Co settings sort of "encase the stone." From the top, the prongs have a rounded and very well finished "very tiny drop of platinum" look- like if you were to make a dot on a piece of paper size. You barely notice the prongs, honestly. As far as from the side, the prongwork is more like wirework, so you don't have those thicker "blade" type prongs. It is not overbearing at all. Also, I have seen smaller (like .31ct in the classic setting) and the prongwork there is also very discreet.

Thanks for the specs, Denise! This setting is so pretty. Does it sit low?

Hm... maybe not, but the simple ones seem to be just great deivces to hold stone on finger

Tension settings, bands and dome rings, full bezels do not seem to accomodate lareg stones as nicely - unless one wants a ton of metal on the finegr to go with a large stone.
