I notice that all of the cushions on WF''s site are rated only 1 star. Anybody know or care to comment as to why that is?

I could be wrong, but I believe it is because WF does not have any of the cushions in house. They can''t rate what they haven''t seen with their own eyes.

Honestly, if you want a cushion, I would call Mark at Engagement Rings Direct instead. Almost all the beautiful cushions on PS have come from him, he really has an eye for picking them, PLUS he is in the middle of the diamond district so he has easy access to a lot of stones without paying fees. Also, don''t pick them off his website, CALL HIM. He has a much better selection than what''s available on his website.

Each company has their strengths, and I think WF''s are their rounds and princesses. For cushions I would go to Mark T.

Neatfreak, at least Mark has heard you enough to make an ad saying: "Mark, the cushion guy." Wierd niche. Does his interview give background to this?

Otherwise, text at WF somewhat confirms what you''re saying...as near the star presentation system on WF''s site, there''s a question mark which leads you to more info regarding the stars. By both 1 & 2 stars, it says:

"Often located with a supplier who has not provided enough information for a decisive judgment: Contact us."

But...this language is soft for me, and doesn''t differentiate, by itself, 1 & 2 stars. It could be good if they''d say more.

Yeah, I think it''s been explained on here before as exactly what neatfreak said.

text from the information box beside the ''wf rating'' on their site:

WF Diamond Rating

WF Ratings indicate quality/value based on available measurements, polish & symmetry grades and performance data balanced with the price of the diamond. All in-house diamonds have been analyzed firsthand. Outside diamonds available to us are rated based on available information (we cannot guarantee details of outside diamonds).*

* The WF Rating is based on our expertise. It is not a substitute for official laboratory grading.

one star is explained with all of the rest.

"Mark_T.he Cuhion guy" is my copy Ira, just to clarify - he was not even comfortable with it until i asked him not to be too modest, it's the people on this board who made this statement really over and over again, i just typed it into a banner because my job is to listen to consumers (well, and make pretty pictures)

Thanks for clarifying, Pricescope...though...I think maybe something did come up about this on the invterview...not sure.

Also, Belle, so maybe you can clarify examples of what would differentiate 1 from 2 star under the WF ratings?

Just so we''re clear.

ira, i don't know what more i can do. i tried pasting directly for those who seem to not be able to find the descriptions found beside the 'ratings' and i linked directly to the explanations.

Dearest Belle,

edit..

Big mouth me...now I read your link, Belle.

It has more info than I saw earlier; thanks!

Thanks for all your help everyone...I had done a quick search on WF and didn''t notice that there was an explanation for the ratings. I appreciate the help.
