I haven''t seen my diamond yet but I did get a call from my jeweler & this is what he had to say. My diamond is back from the polisher, looks very nice, just like it did before the mysterious white glaze consumed it. He did tell me that the stone lost some weight, at least 2 points. I told him that I had been consulting other GG''s & I was told that the all over white haze sounds more like the stone getting burned not clarity enhancement problems. He said nothing. I asked him if the feathers in my diamond looked like they had been filled previously & then boiled out by high heat. He said that the feathers looked just like they did before the re mounting. I asked him if the polisher left the IGI stamp & number on the girdle of my diamond & he said that he didn''t know & would check. He asked if I wanted him to send it to the GIA & I told him no, I will pick it up on Friday. If my stone was torched & now is re polished, can it still be detected? Also, if my diamond is NOT fracture filled, what else would cause the white haze. I have seen diamonds that have strong flouresence & that''s what mine looked like after it was re set. If my jeweler burned my diamond, shouldn''t he fess up? What''s the big deal?
