I really want a 1/3 ct princess cut diamond solitaire pendant. I want it to be stationary on the chain. I do kind of have my heart set on that size (1/3 ct) sentimental reasons and don't really want to go bigger or smaller on the actual diamond. But have not been able to find 1/3 ct princess in person to try on. So probably going custom or online...

I have narrowed it down to v-prong or bezel... which do you think would look better?

I was going to set either in the "kite" setting. Is there another setting that would be better?

Do you think 1/3 ct is too small for a pendant? Should I do something else with it?

I haven't bought anything yet, so honesty is appreciated. Thanks

I got a .3 round necklace in a bezel and it is very elegant but a nice amount of bling to wear everyday. In contrast I have a .54 OMC in prongs and I feel like it is lost. Go for the bezel. Kite set sounds nice, pay attention to squareness when you're picking a stone.

I appreciate the response. Do you have any pictures you could post of your necklaces? It's hard to picture what the necklace is going to look like when it's done. Thanks!

My sister has a .12ct round in a bezel and it's perfect on a dainty chain. I think a 1/3ct kite set princess would be lovely!

I think it will work just wonderfully, and later on, if you feel the need to make it more grand, you can always add another stone to hang below the first one.

Wow that's really pretty! Thanks for the links to the photos, that helps a lot, since I haven't been able to find any in person!!!

Is anyone able to photoshop what it might look like in v-prongs? It's hard to picture if the diamond will get lost

Thanks!!!!

Very pretty! Thank you for the pictures. I'm going with a box-chain, I think. The bezel seems like it is really perfect with it. I'm so excited!!! Thank you!!!!

Yes! I love the box, so sparkly. Mine is actually the "baby box" because I kept saying "Don't you have anything cheaper?" I never felt like it was flimsy. I did pay more for a lobster clasp since I find C clasps overly difficult and not substantial enough. All ordered from a stuller catalog and an ebay scourced stone.

Yes I think my box chain is going to be 0.6mm, that's what size I have other pendants on now and I like it. I've always found them sturdy. You did beautifully on the stone. How did you know who to trust online?

Hello Sparkles22, I'd like to share my experience with you.
0.30 ct isn't too small, it gives a lot of sparkle and it is very practical for everyday wear.
I have a 0.30 ct round diamond on a six prongs setting and I receive many compliments on it: it's a little white light dancing on my neck.
I had it on a bezel setting and no one did notice it: bezel settings increase the dimension, but delicate prongs show off the real beauty of diamonds.

Just for reference: my 0.30 ct round on my size 6 finger.

I did put my 0.30 ct diamond on a bezel setting because I thought it was small (when I bought it,I couldn't afford a larger carat stone); I kept that setting for 4 years but I wasn't happy with it because of the lack of sparkle, then 6/7 months ago I decided to put my diamond on a six prongs setting (I did the same with my small studs, 0.10 ct each): I'm really satisfied with the result, I still know my diamonds are small but at least I can appreciate their quality (F color, VVS clarity, very good cut).

Wow purplesilk thank you for the pictures. I think it's beautiful! It sparkles like mad. I don't think it looks small at all (I hope my princess cut will look that big). Can I ask what length chain you have it on? I'm thinking I want 15/16 inches. Thanks again.

Thanks.
It is 40 cm = 15.76 inches (including clasp)
It 's a box chain ,18 carat white gold.

It looks like the perfect length on you. I love that the chain gives it some sparkle also.

That helps a lot! Thank you!!!! I had been surfing the net myself, but hadn't seen that site. I appreciate it very much!
