#2 .722 I Vs1 5.75-5.80- 3.53mm Polish/Symetry Ideal
61.3% depth
57% table
34.2 degree crown angle

Very Strong Blue Florescence

Both have AGS certs.

May I shy away from "very strong" fl ? That''s nice as a curiosity, but are you sure that''s what you are after ?

Yes I love the blue in the stone and have narrowed my choices to these two stones

bump

From the numbers, I like #1. It''s a bit bigger and the color is better.

#1. You would also be safer staying away from the "Very Strong" fluorescence.

Diamond #2 with the very strong florescence is a little hazy under 10x but it is almost imperceptible. In the sunlight though it''s breathtaking to behold the blue flashes of light emanating from it. Diamond #1 has no haziness but falls short on symmetry/polish compared to #2''s AGS triple zero grading

bump anyone else can ya help me?

bump

I prefer H to I

bump

I''d vote #1 if price is similar.

Since all specs but color are nearly identical, I''d also vote for #1.

bump

I choose #1 as well!

I believe this thread has broken the all time "bump" record

Lol I just want to get as many opinions as possible

Well, you've gotten 8 votes for #1...most of which come from extremely knowledgable customers or diamond industry insiders.

I doubt the rest of us could help you any more than that.

PS, even the cut adviser says #1 is better: #1 scored 1.1, ex ex ex vg; #2 scored 1.4 ex ex vg vg. Just FYI.

Alright so #1 is the way to go. I''m surprised that everyone chose #1 over #2. #2 seemed like the way to go because it is an AGS Triple Zero and has a better clarity grade. Now that I have your opinions I will tell you the prices. Do you think these are fairly priced?

#1 $2226 Tax included with a platinum solitare 4 prong setting
#2 $2563 Tax included with 18k white gold solitaire 4 prong

I am not after those AGS000 thing. The way you describe #2 would have left no doubt this is your winner... before the votes chimed in

Back to pricing, though - I would have bet #2 is the less expensive of the two. This way, it doesn't look like the greatest choice...

Yeah I agree with you Valeria. Here''s the story behind the stones. I purchased #2 after a year of intense diamond study from an online jeweler because it represented exactly what I wanted as well as the price range. I had every intention of keeping this diamond. However, I also shopped around town and found out the who''s who in diamonds. That being said I chose a jeweler I could trust and took stone #2 to him to have it checked out. He asked how much I spent and checked the stone out for me. Then I asked him if he had anything similiar. He picked out 4 stones that all were near identical in every way. He also assumed a platinum setting which was also favorable. That being said enter stone #1 at a steep discount from the prices they had quoted me in the past. I had looked at a J color Si1 from them that would have cost me $2000 with tax and was only a good to very good cut. Needless to say, it pays to both to be very knowledgeable as well as crafty.

And try and sell him your diamonds which are super special one time deal only from you right?
Read the rules you agreed to and stop spamming the board.
No one contact this guy.

Lol, I thought you were talking about me for a sec "Strmrdr". Not a chance "QD"

I recall reading on (i think) goodoldgold.com that the value of I,J,K diamonds increase with blue flourescence, as the blue improves colorwise the appearance of these stones. Perhaps this is why the second stone is a bit more pricey?

Actually the market value of a H Vs2 diamond is appreciably higher than an I Vs1, on a per carat basis. Your right though but to my knowledge its only a couple percent for an I

Not sure "value" means "cost" here... at least not all sellers abide by this although fluorescence does make those diamonds look whiter in theory.

The table comes from Here It may not be very hard to reproduce this usinf Pricescope''s database.

Sorry about that we get scammers in here once in the while.
It can take some time for the administration to get rid of them if Leonid isnt on the board at the moment.
We do the best we can to protect people from them as much as possible.
