Which multi-stone ring combination to choose?

Hi lovely PS folks!
I was looking through my teenie tiny stones again and am thinking about setting a couple of them into two/three stone rings, but am torn between a few combinations. I’ve narrowed the priority down to sapphires/emeralds for a blue-green combination, and would love some ideas about which to choose.
The pics are taken indoors in the evening, please bear with me. It’s been raining for days and I couldn’t wait!

1. Tiny sparkly cornflower + blueish light-green emerald sidestones
Pros: a very sparkly combo
Cons: the center sapphire is neither the same size nor obviously larger than the emeralds, although I guess I could use halo or bezel to achieve the effect

2. Larger silky cornflower + the emeralds
Pros: more pronounced center stone (still tiny but you know what I mean)
Cons: the sapphire is silky so not as sparkly as the sides

3. The sparkly sapphire + emerald
Pros: nice colors and just so happened to be of almost the same size
Cons: don’t have good vision for the actual design yet, perhaps they would look better on their own or paired with larger stones than with each other.

4. Stacker bands.

Any input is welcome!

I was just browsing reddit and just came across such a pretty three stone vintage ring that I immediately saved it and now get to show you, too, because the design fits the first combination so well:

The other thing I'm thinking, even though it's not among your listed options, is a toi et moi ring with the oval sapphire and the asscher cut similar to the one Pomelo has: https://www.pricescope.com/communit...ing-6-years-in-the-making.274650/post-5157365

The size disparity between the two stones would work as a feature rather than a flaw, and you can adjust how much open space you want to have between the two stones on the finger, they could be set a bit closer.

Not keen on #2 as the centre stone is too dark for this combination IMHO.

I like both #1 and #3.

DK :))

This is tough! I see why you're having a difficult time deciding. So, IMO, the oval sapphire needs the aid of some side stones with pizazz. I also like the size and shape better with the round emeralds. So even though I prefer the quality of the round sapphire overall, why not go with #2 and then you can also do #3... a twofer!

If I had to choose, I would opt for #3, with diamond micro-pave around each stone, in an open ring design.

DK :))

i like number one
the colours are just so pretty that way

but honestly what would i know
i have terrible taste a lot of the time :lol-2: :lol-2:

Thanks so much everyone!

I am so glad about the coincidence because the three-stone ring is definitely a look I’m going to consider! Do you know if this design (three stones on a surface?) has a name?
As for the toi et moi, I have seen the post and was head over heels for it. I think I need a bigger stone than the second sapphire to achieve a good effect, but big yes to the excuse to ogle this ring (again) :P

I love your design idea posts because I’m the same - it’s so difficult to decide! I will wait for a sunny day to think over #2 again, haven’t decided whether I like the difference in texture or not:/

Thanks DK! I can imagine this, perhaps with one higher and the other lower.

What no :lol-2: I’ve seen your stones and rings and they are beautiful! #1 is the first combo that came to mind and inspired the color combination, though then I became undecided about size etc.
