Toss up between number 4 and 1. I have 1, but in white gold. I prefer the simple, classic look.

Yep, that's why my choice is #1, especially for a round. I like the fact that it sits up a little higher also.

I like #1 or #2. #1 is more classic, #2 has a little extra design to it. But the practical difference is how high the stone sets. Higher will make is stand out more, but be less practical if she is active with her hands. It becomes a personal preference.

I really like #4. I think U-prongs make quite the statement though I'd probably like it more without the surprise diamonds.

#3 is my first choice.
#4 is my second choice...but only if the diamond is 1ct or more, as I feel the double prongs would overpower a smaller stone.

If this is for the .5 carat round brilliant in the previous post, then I go with #3...I think the width of the band, accompanied by the little something extra of the surprise diamond- without being too overpowering is the best bet of the choices.

Thank you for your opinions and it helps a lot. So if i could go to a .59 with the 4 prong tiffany or a .49 with the surprise diamond which one would you ladies choose? THE BIGGER DIAMOND WITH THE 4PRONG TIFF OR THE SMALLER DIAMOND SET IN A NICE UNIQUE BAND???

The difference between the two stones should not be very noticeable...

Given those two choices, I would go with the traditional Tiffany setting, as it will show off the stone best

I still like the Tiffany...I like being able to see the stone..I don't think the 'surprise' diamonds would show up that much...

I like No.1 and with the 0.59 if possible.

Ofcourse it is your choice and you have to keep in mind what she would like - high set or low set and her style.
