Well, I made a bet with my husband that if he made 150 or higher on the LT. list that he would have to buy me a new setting. Then I thought, why not just upgrade if I can find a stone that is not that much more to buy, but my requirement is that it has to be at least 30 points larger, if not more than my current stone, which is 2.03.

So, I found those two, 2.40 I VS1 and 2.47 H SI1, both ACA''s and right around the same exact price. I don''t have an end upgrade size, but I think I would be very happy with around 2.5, so those two seem perfect. I know I don''t want a 3 carat as I would never bother wearing it for fear of damaging it, although if I was rich, I guess I would take a 3 carat.

So, DH did really well on the test ( he''s number 80 something which means he will probably get promoted soon) and I decided to look today to see what was available and I found those two stones.

It''s not a definite of course and I have time. My 15th anniversary is next year and I got this diamond in 2003, so I figure, why not get the wheels rolling.

Both look nice, but if the H is eye clean and would look clean from the side, once it''s set, I''d go for that one since the color is higher and it''s slightly larger.

Have you had a chance to compare your current G stone to an I to see if you can tell the difference in the "warmth" level? That may be something to check out before you decide. I was surprised how easily I could see the color difference between my eng stone (a G) and the pendant I bought (an E). The G definetly shows more warmth! (but, this doesn''t bother me. I''d probably buy another G or an H next time around)
