We found these 2 radiant cut diamonds and not sure which one has better quality. We kind of want to go with the bigger stone but its girdle thickness seems off. People said to avoid very thick girdle because that's wasted weight. Does that rule apply for a Radiant cut also? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

1st stone: Carat Cut Color Clarity Polish Symmetry Depth % Table % Girdle L/W Ratio Price
1.12 Very Good F IF Excellent Excellent 72.1 69 Slightly Thick to Thick 1.23 $5,760
2nd stone: 1.25 Very Good F IF Excellent Excellent 69.8 65 Thick to Very Thick 1.28 $7,000

Thanks a lot.

Welcome Bella! I'm not going to comment on the depth because I'm not an expert, but I would suggest going down a grade or two in clarity. Purchasing an IF stone is paying for something NO ONE will ever see, unless you carry a microscope around with you. You could easily go down to VS1 and be confident that you wouldn't be able to see any inclusions with your eyes. That way, you could either save a nice chunk of money or get a larger stone. Just my .02. Good luck!

Ditto...why pay for something you cant see (unless its a mental thing).

Edit - oh, back to your original question...we cant evaluate fancy cut stones without images (pictures, ASET, idealscope). There
are too many variables. If you have any of these items, please post them so we can take a look.

I will try to see it I could get the pictures of them. I was hoping someone could tell me if the 1.25 still look bigger in spreading size than the 1.12 even though the 1.25 has Thick to Very Thick girdle. I'm just afraid of paying more for the same spreading size looking diamond as the cheaper one. Thanks for your input about going down on the Clarity grade. I chose the IF clarity because I might want to trade it up for a larger stone in a few years.
