Which Diamond..Please Help!

I was hoping you could help me decide between two diamonds-they are both the same price however the color, clairty and size differ slighty

The first diamond is:

Cut: Excellent

The second diamond is

Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent

Pavillion: 40.8
Cutlet: None
Gridle: M-STH
Clarity: SI
Notes: Addiontal Clouds not shown


I do not have a picture of the I grade diamond but I do of the H, here it is...

Hi Musbursa,

After doing due diligence, making sure the SI is eye clean, it''s a value proposition.

Unless you have a threshold constraint, (I might not include the I on principle, vs. clinical examination, which might find I''d like it...but that you''ve included it, by definition, means that is not the case)...

I think the color and size are fair trade offs for each other. I''d go local, look at Hs and Is, look at .2 centimeters...see what you like. Unless more will be revealed with pictures (can you get ISs....that, too may help!) it''s a personal choice.

But...the IS may help too. Maybe see if you can get that.

Honestly, I would prefer the I. I like the depth on it better. I just don''t like it when my diamond is hiding some of it''s size that it doesn''t have to in its depth and its girdle. So I would pick the I (all things being equal such as Crown and Pavillion angles as well as price) simply because of the dif in the depth and the girdles. You''re getting a diamond that''s truly doing it''s best to show ALL of its size in the I.

I'd go for the I because it's substantially bigger and has VS2 clarity (so no worries about who sets the definition of eye-clean...VS2 virtually guarantees that a stone will be eye-clean). Personally, I can't tell the difference between H and I color, so the I diamond is all plusses for me. Although that pic of the H is gorgeous!
