Which diamond is better?

I am considering these two stones and need some feedback on which is better and why. I am having a difficult time deciding. thanks.

Of the 2 the one worth taking a closer look at would be the first. the 1.038ct.

My experience with the crown/pavilion combo of the 2nd hasn't been as good as those with the first but DO NOT BASE YOUR BUYING DECISION on my comments alone. Before I dropped the bucks I'd want to see some optics baby! Before a dealer can say "show me the money" I say "show me the optics!"

Check out the AGA charts - gemappraisers.com has a DIY where you plug in your numbers and get a grading. The first is a 3A (US domestic average cut) but the second is lacking table width and girdle thickness to grade. If you have those stats, go to the site and plug it in yourself. I think AGA are the only one with charts for fancy cuts. I think it's nice to run the numbers on a stone, but needless to say, Rhino is right - bottom line is, how does it look?

I checked out the site as suggested. thank you. According to the scale i now feel like both of these diamonds are dogs. the B-scope rating for the 1.038 diamond was High, very high, high. Should i hold out for one that scores a better B-scope or am i wasting my time trying to find something that doesn't exist?

I've only played with the princess cuts - never a serious search, so I wouldn't be the one to advise there. But I'm sure there are others who will. Good Luck!

The sarin report i have on a diamond read total depth 69.9 but when plugged remaiming figurs into the gemappraisers calculator it determined my total depth to be 18.8. Did i do something wrong?
